Not good quality, should have lasted longer then it did
Used it for the 3rd time within 5 days of getting it and the drill snapped in two pieces. Not good quality, should have lasted longer then it did!

Good drill kit but hard to get a fire going
This is a pretty neat "drill kit" that is already assembled and ready-to-go. It also comes with good instructions and seems well made with good quality materials. There are a couple of minuses that need mentioning:* It seems rather expensive for what you get because you only get one fireboard with 12 notches, so you are limited to using it 12 times unless you supply additional materials.* My son is 9 years old and he had trouble using this. I don't think he had enough power to get it smoking well.* While it was easy to get it smoking with a bit of "elbow grease", I tried several times to get a real fire going with it and failed. It's not that easy, at least it wasn't for me. Perhaps I was doing something wrong or need to further work on the technique. At some points it did seem like I was close to getting one started but a fire just didn't start.I do think it would be fun for a pack of Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts to see and try out, and maybe give an award to any of them that can actually get a fire going with it.Overall 4 stars.NOTE: I was sent a free product sample for review. I was not paid or told what to write.
