Micro-Foam Capable, Latte Art worthy
Would you just look at it. Made while in the shadow of Green Mountain, Vermont at a Blue Grass Festival. Stove used was a Coleman white gas stove.Recommendations: spring for the pressure gauge.Cons:Base is small compared to any typical burner size, exposing plastic bits to heat = potential to damage. No pressure gauge leaves to test and retest of ability to brew / make steam. Directions recommend leaving coffee valve open until push through and then closing for a period of time and then pulling espresso. Just get the gauged version.Grind: I have a professional grinder. Went through 1lb of coffee trying to dial this thing in. No luck. Finally got it to work by loading it with Nespresso pod coffee (yes I would break them open and dump the coffee into the basket). All other attempts across the spectrum of course to fine were failures. Not sure what they do when processing coffee for the pods, but it worked. The pictured coffee was made entirely by this unit and did taste wonderful. Good crema, good extraction, good flavor.Pros:Espresso extraction with the right grind on coffee.Steam wand is amazing, beautiful micro-foam every time.Cleaning Easy as.So I would recommend, but with the pressure gauge and lots of patience to find the best grind for extracting espresso (or just break open pods, I just dislike them from a waste standpoint). And if you are looking for an amazing steamer, this is the ticket. So good, every time.

I like the idea of this thing - but it blew ...
I like the idea of this thing - but it blew up once and I have been frightened to use it ever sense. It made nice coffee when I was using it, though. As far as camping goes - get an electric tea kettle and make some french press that way. You could even use your car to operate it. I find that making a fire in the morning to make coffee with is more trouble than I am going to go to. If you are primitive camping and aren't worried about the weight - go for it.

WARNING MAY EXPLODE!
I watched numerous videos on youtube seemed like a good product as long as you know how to use it... I never put any of the parts in the dish washer and I used it at least every week it was good while it lasted! I had it about a year when the top blew! when I say blew I mean the thing hopped of my dang stove while I was in the kitchen and I tried to jump on my counter and hit my head on my cabinet but I didn't put my feet back down on the ground I wouldn't have cause all the hot liquid was everywhere on the ground... WEAK SEAL! my seal broke! I looked at it after I cleaned up the big mess and there was a rip in the seal (I have no idea how long it had been there or that it was there seeing as I clean everything by hand! and let it air dry...............) it scared the crap out of me and I am afraid to use it now. thank goodness my daughter was not in the kitchen! ill be calling the company to tell them about this incident I was very disappointed we got stationed overseas and I miss starbucks (im from seattle) also thankful I didn't pass out from hitting my head and that my husband wasn't deployed when this happened! my head hurt for days!.

Does what it is made for.
At first I just wanted to have a stove top milk steamer. When I found out that this product also makes espresso I was sold. The product is built well and does what it is made for. There is a slight learning curve to get the right espresso and steam pressure. The nice thing is that you can tweak the pressure of the espresso and steamer. I would give this product 5 stars, however there are three slight flaws: 1. the length of the espresso spout needs to be 1 inch longer because when the pot is on the center of a gas burner I can barely place a mug under it to catch the drip. To account for this, I use a tall mug that allows the spout to fit within the rim, this is important because the espresso often sputters. 2. the main spindle (that functions to deliver the steam and tighten the lid) goes straight through the middle of the espresso basket, this makes packing the espresso tedious, the company should provide a doughnut like packer with the device. 3. The base is quite narrow, on a gas burner a medium to high flame licks up the side of the base. This is a problem because it reduces the heating efficiency and because the handle and knobs are made of plastic there is the potential to melt the parts and you can also burn your hand. to account for this I center the pot over the flame and keep the flame around medium. If you like tinkering and make espresso occasionally this is a great product.
