An excellent, well-written, comprehensive guide
The Robin Wood Tarot is one of the most beautiful decks I've ever seen, and the designs are so well-thought-out that their interpretation is often intuitively obvious. This guide fills in all the details you might not notice, gives background for many of the artistic choices made, and helps flesh out the basic meanings to introduce subtlety and nuance. If you are new to tarot, this is a great introduction. If you already love your Robin Wood deck, you'll love it even more with this guide!

Just bought your much dreamed about Robin Wood Tarot Book!
Bought your Robin Wood Tarot Deck over 25 years ago, in 1995, & read cards for myself first, then family & friends, & then their family & friends. The readings I did came true, & people got hooked here in Grants Pass, Oregon. Lol Then at family & friend's get togethers, I became "The Entertainment," at these little soirees. LolI stopped reading for a few years & threw away all of my magic books, cards, etc, as was advised by my ex's religious church members, that doing so would stop the hauntings our immediate family had wherever we lived, or traveled to.I missed your Robin Wood Tarot Deck & was happy to find the Kindle eBook today 6/4/20, so I bought it & found a brand new Robin Wood deck, so it will arrive in 2 days on 6/6/20, Saturday, whoo hoo! Thanks for writing this lovely, informative, & humorous book, & designing the Robin Wood Deck also, years ago.I heard that Tarot card art was literally found in hieroglyphic forms on the walls of the Egyptian Pyramids & that the Cartomancy decks go all of the way back to the Lost City of Atlantis, which predates European quotas, obviously, & fascinated me.Your drawings & paintings are amazing, & the Major Arcana does echo the King James Holy Bibly English translation from the 1,600's, as in the Lovers being Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden, with the Tree of Life & the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil & the Serpent in the background, who was a Flying Serpent, possessed by Lucifer Morningstar, to beguile Eve.The Tower is from the Tower of Babel, which when being constructed, all male workers spoke one language, until GOD The Father, got upset about creating man, who was up to no good, thinking they could build a Tower to go to Heaven on their own, so he confounded their languages, blasted the Tower up, & the scattered on the Face of the Earth, as they no longer spoke the same language anymore, which you illustrated perfectly.I look forward to reading your book now, & having your cards in 2 days to go with it!Thanks Robin Wood for you God given Artistic abilities, that you've expounded on so beautifully & all of your hard work, dedication & persistence, not to mention the support of your great family, friends & Llewellyn,Janet I. Robin Wood Tarot The Book
Unfortunately this book is out of print but I feel it is worth the price to secure a good, used copy. From this author I am learning a great deal regarding symbolism. colors , trusting my feelings and intuition in reading tarot cards. Sometimes she gives too much detail, (for me) with explanations of things she drew that I can't even see. She explains herself in a concrete, linear, sometimes humorous way. Mrs. Wood is not trying to impress the reader with how much she knows or how complicated her vocabulary can be. One feels guided, energized and encouraged to be creative, and to listen to your own feelings as she explains each card. Robin Wood encourages you to disagree with her or come up with your own insights and interpretations. She doesn't set out to own these cards or their explanations; they represent her feelings, her visualizations, her insights in regards to how these cards should look. Mrs. Wood occasionally seems to have some opinions and does not hesitate to assert her beliefs. I like that. Mrs. Wood is ethical and refers to ethics often in her coaching of the reader. I am outlining the book and understand I can only absorb so much at a time. There is profound information here and I will refer back to this many times. She is coaching and teaching the reader in a very subtle way. She encourages you to trust your feelings, and follow your intuitive direction while discussing each card throughout the book. This is like participating in a Tarot workshop. In short, brilliant insightful author, accomplished artist, kind and giving person; insightful Wiccan role model.

A must if you love the Robin Wood Tarot
Although this book is designed to teach one particular deck, it's also a great beginner's guide as it provides detailed insight into each card, which can then be used for many other decks drawn in the RWS tradition. The extra treat for people like me, who use the The Robin Wood Tarot as their number one reading deck, is to see what Ms. Wood was thinking as she designed each card. It's interesting to see the reason she put all those little individual symbols in each card, and what each one means to her. There isn't anything in these cards that wasn't well thought out and planned.Yet Ms. Wood constantly reminds the reader that her details on the cards are meant only as a suggestion, and that each reader should find unique interpretations that apply to his or her own Tarot language. These interpretations are sure to develop over time as you work with your deck. For example, let's look at the ten of wands. Does the man have his hands full with a heavy burden? Or is he bringing these prizes to his sweetie, making this a labor of love? Do you notice that the road ahead is smooth? What about the village? Is he going home, or visiting a neighboring town? How long has he been traveling? How far does he have to go? What story do YOU see in this card? What emotion do YOU feel? Such is the type of creative interpretation that Ms. Wood encourages. Also found here is the very best excercise on grounding and centering that I have ever come across. There are other practical suggestions about how to begin reading and how to phrase a question as well. This lively, intuitive deck would be easy for the beginner to interpret, but also has the complexity to provide new insights to the more seasoned reader, and this book explains it all. I would highly recommend both the deck and book to all.

Excellent book.
Excellents commentaires de l'auteur que l'on ne retrouve pas dans les manuels sur les tarots, en général.

One of the best
I've been glued to this book from the moment it arrived. I have around 20 tarot books and this is probably my absolute favourite. Easy to understand, modern sensibility but also true to the RW system. This is the book which made me 'get' certain cards i'd been stuck on.

Alles OK

Fabulous companion to the deck.
There is so much depth to theses cards. The artist, and author, put a lot of thought and detail into these cards. The book is a delight to read and an insightful must-have if you get the cards.

Un valido strumento di lettura.
Indispensabile spiegazione delle scelte iconografiche dell'Autrice dell'omonimo mazzo. Un utile strumento per stimolare a riflettere sui significati delle varie Lame.
