Pollinator Garden
I love the colorful pictures and the book is very informative. I am starting a native garden for pollinators. Most books I found were black and white so I needed colored pictures for reference in matching my plants. Not all the plants in this book are native but that’s ok because one of my beds have non native plants.

beautiful, colorful, descriptive book
I bought this as a gift for my mom, who often observes a variety of birds and other critters on her lake front property. We had discussed setting up some areas in her yard that would help draw birds, butterflies, and ok, even bees to the area. When I found this book, I knew it would be perfect. There are plenty of great ideas in it. So I put together a gift of this book, a hanging plant/bird feeder shepherds hook, and some hummingbird stuff. The book is really beautifully done. Full color pictures, well organized, descriptive and really informative. The way it is designed is just absolutely pleasing. It seems to be a great addition to ones personal library, or even as a coffee table book, given how nice it is to look at.

Beautiful Photographs!!
I purchased this book for my daughter who is interested in saving the bees because our gardens are dependent on them. This book has lots of good information, but I am loving it because of the beautiful photographs in it. It is stunning and my daughter has already planted a pollinator garden for the bees which includes milkweed for the butterflies. We have also incorporated bright reds in the garden for the butterflies and the hummingbirds. This is a wonderful book I'm sure you will be happy with.

Makes case using native plants but falls short.
This book contains great pictures and lots of varied information for the price. Although the book takes several pages to make a solid point of the need to use native plants for gardening to attract birds, bees and butterflies, it then proceeds to recommend many plants that are not native. One example of their heavy use of cultivars is they list "10 bird friendly coneflowers" but all are solid cultivars with fancy names. Never mentioned are purple coneflower, glade, pale purple or yellow coneflowers all of which are native. Recommended trees and shrubs include boxwood and Arborvitae which many people like myself will surely find native alternatives. But the book does a good job by providing maps for the bird and butterfly species listed and even host plants for the butterflies which I found very helpful as a quick reference. And there are many good tips and specialized sections in the back adding to the quality of the book. I'm sure I will find myself enjoying the wonderful pictures and quantity of information for many days to come.

I absolutely LOVE this book
I absolutely LOVE this book. Great coloured photos. Great descriptions of plants. Clear identification as to whom the plant attracts. Symbols included for light preference. THIS IS THE GARDENING BOOK TO PURCHASE IF YOU ARE INTO WILDLIFE GARDENING! I am working on creating a butterfly garden that is approximately the size of the football field, and I use this book for my main plant purchasing reference. I have read the book cover to cover almost 5 times and I still find it refreshing and enjoyable. I only wish the book would have listed plant hardiness zones for all the plants instead of just a few.
