Bloccs Waterproof Cast Cover Arm, Swim, Shower & Bathe, Watertight Protector, Child Short Arm (Small)

This cast cover absolutely saved our carribbean vacation for our 7 year old (and the whole family really). He had an injury two weeks before our trip and although he was put in a waterproof fibreglass cast with special synthetic softroll that was designed to get wet and dry itself we were specifically told that "the pool is ok, but sand is not." We were told that if ANY SAND got in the grains would get stuck in the material and scratch his skin like sandpaper.DISCLAIMER: I'm sure it's extremely risky to use it to protect a cast from sand so don't take this as a recommendation but rather this was our experience with it. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.This arrived in under a week (with 2 days to spare before our departure).We ordered a size small, which was absolutely perfect for him. Pictures of his measurements are attached. It was tight but totally comfortable. He swam for hours in the shorebreak and it stayed completely dry. Obviously better too snug than too loose.We made sure he had it on any time he went to the beach even if it was just for a walk in case he fell. He did all the usual beach things including making sand castles and swimming without any issues.When putting it on make sure to stretch the material only in diameter to get it over the cast and DO NOT STRETCH IT IN LENGTH. His developed a tiny 1-2mm puncture after being stretched too hard lengthwise when putting it on one time that likely aggravated a defect from regular use. Thankfully we found the puncture before going to the beach and applied some patch repair material on both sides of the hole for extra strength (the kind of single-sided peel-and-stick repair material that comes with pool toys and inner tubes). Make sure to examine the cover after each time it is put on and consider an immersion test (like checking for bubbles and water intrustion) before going to the beach. You can see the patch in a couple of the photos.If I was to go through this situation again (especially with international travel) I would recommend buying two and bringing some patch kits just because it would have been devestating if it became damaged in a way we couldn't repair.As it happened this totally saved our extremely expensive vacation and made the best of a bad situation for us.I'd give it 6 stars if I could.Good luck!

Sleeve worked perfectly to keep cast dry in sprinkler and at water park. Silicon/plastic was very tight. Exactly as described.

Little one was able to shower and use a pool. Kept the cast dry. Worked a treat. Highly recommend.

Would have been amazing!!! But it ripped after the first use. I can’t spend $50 every day. Took it off so she could eat and then it ripped and then she couldn’t go back in. Pretty sad.Size wise- I have a tiny 7 almost 8 year old and it was perfect size.

Works great! Be sure to measure the arm, because the ages are a little misleading. Used size 1-3 for my 5 year old... She spent the summer in the pool even with a cast thanks to this clever device. :)
