A good read for 9-12 year olds
Second Form at Malory TowersAnother year passes by at Malory Towers, and plenty of new events happen with the girls. New girls join Darrel, Sally,Gwendoline, Alicia and others for a year offun and learning. The girls prank the teachers and then, there are consequences too!As I read these books again after many years, I can't help admire the vast understanding of human nature that Enid Blyton has brought to paper. This book explores a range of emotions and feelings from jealousy between the girls, boasting, stealing from others, resorting to cheating due to self induced pressures, standing up for friends, risking oneself for helping others, Each girl is so different and unique in herself. The only part that strikes me is the usage of English (usual with Enid Blyton, though). We wouldnt find a lot of books using a bit of what can be termed as harsh language written for children in the modern days.Perfect for the age groups of 9- 12, this one is a 4/5. As we finish this compelling sequel to the first one, the next is waiting to be read!
