Nothing here for beginners. Total ripoff.
I bought two books on accordion published by Mel Bay. This one came last and I thought that being that the other one was good, this would be nearly as good or better. This 32 page book has one half page of instruction. It is not for the beginner. It shows you where to put your hand for the base buttons. That is all. Then it goes into about 30 pages of sheet music. It is assumed I guess that you know all about music because this doesn't even tell you what a quarter note is or what the base and treble symbols are. A lot better book is Accordion Method by Frank Zucco. At least that book has pictures and tells you a little about music. Oh one more thing about the Easyist Accordion book. That half page of instruction has two spelling or grammer errors in it that I found. Must be nobody bothered to read that half page. Mr. Griffin if you are reading this, intument is spelled instrument. Ric.

Songbook not how to book
It is a book of songs. I was expecting more directions and helpful hints.I can read music and have had some music theroy. I don't find these songs particularly easy.

Very disappointed
This book must assume that you already know the piano keyboard, as the only instructions it gives are for the left hand bass buttons, which are very minimal.

Perfect for the beginner....fun music.
I am a beginner with reading music and also learning the accordion. Further I am teaching myself at 75 years old because there is noone in the area giving accordion lessons. I find this music easy and fun! I am learning the tunes quickly and advancing my skills well. Great book for me.

Easy - but fun and interesting too
Great book of well-known tunes, harmonised by someone who had sat down and thought about how they should be played on the accordion, not just reproducing guitar chords. A lot of alternating bass patterns, which adds interest.Have only had my accordion a couple of weeks and I can play these easily enough (not a novice musician) - but great to have a pile of music I can play, practice and improve with without having to work out how best to work the bass just from a set of chords.

Simple to follow
Simple to follow. I can now play Amazing Grace.

Great for beginners
I have had two lessons on accordion and can play half the tunes in this book already. They are well set out and probably about grade 1 level piano if that. Obviously being able to read music is necessary! Some well known tunes.
