Tiny leaflet with odd Emirati Arabic phrases
The author claims to have discovered a revolutionary system for learning languages. Maybe he has, but it does not seem to me that it is working. He spends 10 pages about himself and his method, and only 29 pages on actual language learning (this should be called a leaflet, not a book).I picked this up as it was difficult to find books focusing on spoken Emirati Arabic, but there are other books that do this much better that this one. Firstly, some of the phrases that he translates seems to be very odd. On the first two pages and among the first 10 sentences you should learn, you learn how to say "Sometimes I am with him" and "If it was between now and later". I find it difficult to imagine when I would use these sentences when you have not yet learnt the basics.Secondly, the authors focus on a generic system may work for some languages, but it seems that he is not flexible enough to adapt his system to Arabic. For example, verb conjugation does not take into account that Arabic uses different forms of you (singular) for male and female. As a summary, this book was a wasted purchase for me.

A good try!
The cover is the Burj Arab, he should have placed the Burj Kalifa on the cover instead. I did not have any family in UAE so the book was not that inviting. I did not come across the word for a Mosque in the book, So I was not able to ask "Where is the Mosque?' when I was lost. Also Arabic Script is not included in the book nor does the book come with a CD. There were some typographical errors in the transliteration. Definitely, visit Dubai and use English.
