More than enough cable for the install in my harley.
Wired it to power up with the ignition, wish it did have a boot to cover the plug when not connected to my garmin but it works great and l'm very happy with it.

Works Like It Should
Works exactly as advertised. It should be noted that the total length of the wire is 10 feet. I submitted a question about shortening it and received several answers. The facts are, it can be shortened if you can solder. I shortened both ends, to a total of about 24" to use it on my motorcycle. You should use heat shrink tubing, probably a double layer to ensure waterproofing. You also might want to solder on a short length of heavier wire at the connection end as the wire is of a very thin gauge and crimp connectors won't work well. I bought the Garmin unit for another motorcycle and it may be more appropriate if you are using it for a motorcycle or other application where you want the length of the wire between the boxes and the mini USB plug to be shorter. Otherwise, this product is fine.

Not compatible with Traffic Reciever models.
Although not clear in the photo, the power supply box is about 15" from the 12v / 24v power supply lead. The USB cable is longer, which makes installation of the box in a concealed location easier. The downside is this is NOT compatible with Garmin traffic receiver models. It will supply power, but the traffic receiver feature will not operate. Two versions of the Garmin traffic receiver models are both identified LMT on the package. One version uses a separate traffic power supply cable, identified by a double cord. These models do not have a T suffix in the model ID on the back of the GPS unit, ex nuvi 2555LM or nuvi 2595LM. The other version uses an internal receiver and the Garmin single round USB cord - these models are identified with a T in the model suffix on the back of the GPS unit, ex. nuvi 2595LMT.

Works well, no heat generated, plenty of wire included.
I have this wired in my bike so the unit is powered only when the bike is running. The photo shows only the power plug end to the Nuvi. There was plenty of length to get the job done and tucking in the step-down transformer section (the small square box portion) proved easy to do in tight spaces. Be sure to watch for pinch points in your run and leave enough extra length to allow for turning your bike to lock in both directions freely. I was careful to check on any heat generated but there was no noticeable change in temp. After several rides, I've had no power problems or disruptions (indicating faulty connections or QC issues).I'd buy again (but probably won't have to).

Works with Garmin DriveSmart 65
I wish it included an Add-A-Circuit Fuse adapter. Luckily, I had some from another product. I ran the cable from the fuse box and along the front left side of the front window seam. Glad I bought this.

Does not work with Smart Drive 65
When the GPS is plugged in the GPS displays an error stated power source cable not supported. I will be removing this cable from my scooter. 2 hour installation job and return.

Works great, has long cord, looks good, matches OEM spec!
This product looks great and has a very long cord. You can mount the GPS anywhere on your motorcycle and feel confident that this charging cord will be able to reach it with ease. It is constructed very well and the end that goes into the gps fits snug and much like OEM! Very good product and I use it on my 2012 Zx14R!Thank youRyan [email protected] 730 3468
