READ BEFORE BUYING
The hub in and of itself is pretty good. It looks good connected to the mac. The connection is a bit flimsy, so I wouldn't recommend using it on your lap, only on a table. All of the ports work pretty well, except for one huge problem:*The mini-DP port only supports mini-DP to mini-DP*. I didn't even know MiniDP input monitors existed before contacting support. Most of these (from what I can tell all?) are no longer manufactured, so unless you have an Apple cinema display lying around, that port will be useless. Apparently, one of the USB-C ports can be used for video output (while either can handle charging), which is great, but means I 30 quid, since that's the price difference between this and the exact same product without MiniDP.It's a pretty good product all things considered, but don't buy it for the MiniDP.

Worked for a while, then destroyed the battery on my MBP
This worked well for a few months but then it started flicking the monitor on and off once a week or so. Not a big deal, but then it started more and more frequent, and I heard the connection/disconnection noise too often.I started propping it up with some paper (if it's flat, it doesn't work, it weighs down on the ports) and eventually it stopped working completely. Also it turns out that the constant disconnection has a one year old MBP at 45% battery health from the constant disconnections, and it won't stay on for more than 30 minutes without a charge (suddenly powering off at any percentage).Do not buy this, it's junk.

Power
So needed this as I have a display port monitor and other uses for my macbook pro. Works ok but has limited power when adding usb etc so don't think it will solve that problem you will need an external powered hub for that.light and well constructed - feels like part of the mac. Got me extra refresh rates from my monitor by using mini-display port to full display port. Power drawing issues are always a limitation with these.

Works well, but makes me nervous...
This adapter looks slick and I can't fault the connections. I frequently have a monitor, power supply, 2 hard drives and an SD card plugged in. It spreads the connections across 2 usb ports on my MacBook Pro, so it can handle them all. However, I would only use this firmly sat on a desk. Its design essentially creates a lever, which pivots on my two precious usb ports on my very expensive laptop. If any pressure was applied to the far end (eg. from a snagged cable) it would put a lot of strain on the connections. To be clear... this hasn't happened, but it makes me nervous.

nice idea - didn't work reliably
Great concept to tidy up all the adapters needed with Apple MacBooks these days - looks good - tidy - fits in with Apple design etc - didn't work reliably unfortunately. Maybe I got a dud, but it kept cutting out and needed periodic wiggling to stay connected/reconnect.Anyway - refund went smoothly. I'll wait a bit and see if anyone else I meet is using similar and get a live / real opinion before any future purchases.
