Really love the smooth texture of the book! I'm less than 100 pages in but so far I don't find it that amazing yet. I'll have to read more to decide

Donna Tart is a genius this book is fascinating and compelling.The quality of this book is really good, the cover is beautiful with a Matt black finish.

The book came well packaged and in great shape.

I came to this book with no expectations. I usually don’t like stories told from the perspective of a first person narrative but it worked so well for this novel. The story couldn’t have been told any other way.Set at the end of the twentieth century, gen x college kids do something horrible. The story reveals the motivations and the consequences. It’s not for everyone but it’s one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year. I won’t forget it for a long while. I found it haunting.

I think there's no need for another review telling you how good the secret history is. I loved it, the story kept me glued to the book, all those things. But I really wouldn't recommend to purchase it. At least maybe not this edition?? It's the most expensive edition since it's a remake of the first edition of this book but, as I was going to gift the book to a friend (I bought two of those, one for me and one for her), I decided it was worth it. Well it wasn't. The spine was torn in BOTH BOOKS, the book was dirty (BOTH of them as well), the cover was a bit torn as well and it's too small for the book so the pages are longer than the cover. I'd say I'm well versed in arts and crafts but I cannot disguise everything. I glued and repainted part of both spines, had to clean the books and choose the one that looked the best (hard choice) out of the two. Good thing about this edition tho: floppy and the spine doesn't crack :) Great story nonetheless. Would absolutely recommend.... just the other edition maybe. Or perhaps I was just unlucky.

This book gives major dark academia and how to get away with murder vibes. It felt like a very sophisticated read with themes of control, psychology and morality. I found the pacing a little slow for my liking but I lean a bit more toward 5 stars than 4. It felt refreshing reading something with such morally grey characters. I found myself thinking about this book days after finishing it and wanting to reread segments and just ponder about its meaning. The book came is good conditions, corners a tiny bit smushed but nothing I didn't expect from my experience of buying books on amazon, and nothing that really effected the reading experience. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
