An antique cast Yoruba currency ring holds five different charms; a vintage African cast brass hand, a mystic treated natural quartz crystal, a large lustrous pearl cross, a nugget of vintage Baltic amber, and a German red magnolia seed prayer bead. All primitively attached with blackened red brass and bronze wire. At the top is a Tibetan Buddhist Mala bead knotted onto a dark brown luxuriantly soft deer leather lace. I have left the ends as they are so you can tie the ends at whatever length you like. Yoruba currency rings: These fine old brass rings were once used as currency by the Yoruba in Africa, most likely during the early 20th century. They originally were braided onto a leather belt and traded this way, or removed a ring at a time for smaller transactions. These currency rings are individually made and no two are exactly a like. Made from the ancient lost wax method of casting. Measurements: Leather lace is about 36″, centerpiece is 4-1/2″ from top of knot to bottom of cross, currency ring is 1″ wide.
