This is great. I only need it for a day now and then.It's battery operated so if the power goes, my cat gets fed.It has cool pads so I can leave wet good in there.The basins are wide enough for comfort I think, and they're easy to clean.Practically it only conceals 4 meals- but that's all I need.Many of the fancier ones were huge or gimmicky- this is simple, low profile and resistant to my HassleCat.The only thing is that the cold packs have started to buckle a bit. We'll see how long they last.Very happy with it overall

It brings routine and the batteries so far lasted more than a month.

I have cats which we leave at home when we work. This is very convenient as we just have to set it up and then it rations the food depending on the timing you set. We wanted to take extra ice packs but they're way to expensive! It's like buying a new set altogether.

I just got the cat mate today, and have tried to search the internet on how many hours exactly does the icepacks stays cold for so I could know if I could leave it for his morning and night meal. I feed my cat every 12 hours raw diet and I’m not sure if this will keep his food fresh for at least 12 hours... if any one could help me with this information I would be grateful! As sometimes I would be away for his two meals and I need to rest my mind that his food is fresh.

This Cat Mate self feeder works great. I also ordered the stainless steel trays to help keep the food colder, and I thought the stainless steel would be easier for my cat to lick the moist food out of.The unit seems to be well-made, it’s easily operable, and I think it was worth the investment. The removable parts are easy to clean as well.Within three days, my cat has learned to use it in the middle of the night for her grazing snacks. She cannot hear the tray turning to the correct eating cup, because she’s deaf, but she seems to really like having her grazing snacks at the ready.Since I only use this at night, I turn it off during the daytime to save on the double AA batteries. When people use this unit, they should use it on a sturdy flat surface and allow room around it for the cat to sit or stand to eat out of the serving cups.I have nothing but good things to say about the Cat Mate. I am glad this was invented.

My cat has IBD and eats small feedings of soft food five times a day. I was concerned, when she switched to soft food, about how she would get her meals if I had to leave her alone for longer than a few hours. She really likes this automatic feeder, and seems to prefer it to her regular dish. It seems well constructed. I bought it mostly for if I have to go out for a day or a night... Any longer and she'd have a cat sitter anyway, but this is a great help for shorter absences. I might start using it for overnight/early morning feeding when I'm home, too. I also use it when I'm unwell and not feeling up to feeding her 5x a day. I'm not a huge fan of plastic dishes (I usually get ceramic). But it's easy to clean. I love that it uses batteries, so there are no chewable cords. My only concern is whether the cold packs will be enough to keep wet food cold all day long. I've started freezing the meals, except for the initial meal in slot zero, and that seems to help - the meals defrost but still feel cold. I really like this automatic feeder, and it's been peace of mind having it around.Update: Raising my review to 5 stars... I have been using this almost every night overnight, lately, and also when I go out for a day and it's just brilliant. Such a great purchase! It'll also be good for her cat-sitter to use when needed. Also, once, it rotated with the top off and got misaligned, but it was easy to fix by pressing adjust plus the up button simultaneously and holding. I see online that there's a stainless steel food dish insert (instead of plastic) available on the product website... Would be awesome to have this available on Amazon!

Devo dire che la ciotola funziona benissimo,facile da impostare! Siamo stati via un weekend e il mio micio ha mangiato i suoi pasti.. bisogno mettere i ghiaccioli sotto per tenere il cibo fresco...in piena estate non credo che si possono lasciare troppi pranzetti perché i ghiaccioli non durano molto... cmq 5 stelle

A well made piece of kit, made with sturdy plastic. Surprisingly, the promise that it was easy to program was true! The ice packs underneath the rotating bowls are clever, and the food bowls are a good size, so I got three days of feeding provided while I was away. I did two days of two big meals of wet food, which all got eaten so seemed to have stayed fresh enough, and then a big bowl of dry food to keep the cat going until I returned after three days. It’s very easy to clean and it feels like a quality product that will last.
