Best choice for technology-challenged persons
I got this for my very elderly mother (92 years old). Her cable provider lost an important channel because it moved to 100% streaming only. She was also paying for several cable boxes and a DVR. So we decided to ditch the cable equipment and move to streaming. After many hours of research and trial and error, we arrived at ROKU. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend ROKU for old people or anyone technologically challenged. Here is why:1) ROKU has lots of free stuff2) The ROKU App eco system is robust and has many offerings3) The ROKU remote is very simple and easy to use4) The ROKU user interface is less complicated (the streaming device from the cable company is terrible)5) ROKU allows you to easily set up what channels are defaulted and which ones to ignore. Customization is easy.So after some training and regular use, my mom is a streaming champ. It is set up with only 3 apps showing on the main user screen. We have a cable company app that I set up to default to MLB baseball, which she loves. So she doesn't have to channel surf to get there. The other apps are easy to navigate and the free ROKU channel has a lot of offerings. So she basically has everything she needs and we ditched all of the old equipment. Some may disagree with me and by all means, if there is a better system for grammy and grandpa, please let me know.

Easy to setup, no awkward trackpad
Back in January, I decided to replace DirecTV with a streaming service. As result I was regularly using my Apple TV device to control my bedroom TV.I found the trackpad remote very frustrating, so I looked for a replacement streaming device.I already had one Roku attached to my office TV and I like it much more than the Apple TV.Since my bedroom is the furthest TV from my router, I wanted to connect that TV via ethernet (my family has a lot of WIFI devices my Apple TV connected via ethernet.)Since the Roku Ultra LT accepts either ethernet or WIFI connections, it was my choice. Some of the reviews mentioned that no HDMI cable was included, but my package contained a separate HDMI cable in addition to the boxed Roku.Setup was very simple. Since I already had one Roku, it was able to grab some configuration values from that device.Once setup, it was able to identify my TV brand (Sony) and I am able to power the TV and Roku off and on and control TV volume from the Roku remote. The package includes headphones which can be plugged into the remote.I didn’t think too much about the headphones until the first week of March Madness. The first night my wife asked me to use the headphones. They worked great. The TV in my bedroom is not 4K, so I can’t comment on the 4K HDR option.I would definitely recommend this Roku.

Works well for streaming on my second TV, but can’t use headphone jack
This is easy to setup and worked well for my bedroom tv.However, if you plan on using the headphone jack, it burns up the remote batteries in just a few days.I quit using them because I can’t afford to replace the batteries.I actually needed this feature because I’m up all hours during the night and like to watch tv in bed, but I live in a condo which doesn’t have allot of soundproofing between my bedroom and my neighbor…

Of all of the various ROKU boxes that I've used, this Ultra LT 4K player was (is) the best...
I've been a ROKU fanatic over the past 5 years and have tried all of their various boxes, sticks, etc. However, with each device I've noticed certain bugs, some of which were nothing, while others were quite distracting. When I finally gave this Ultra LT 4K/HDR player a shot over the past few months, I was pleasantly surprised to see vast improvements in the following:1. Speed loading of movies/shows.2. Picture Qualities that were vastly improved.3. Issues I have had with some streaming platforms (i.e. Paramount+) were now fixedI could list other improvements, but for the life of me, they've slipped my mind at the moment. Because of the improvements that I've experienced with this Ultra LT 4K player, I will be ordering several more of these to replace my ROKU sticks that I have on my 4 TV sets.I love this unit...

Works without buffering delay.
Finally, a streaming device that doesn't have a buffering issue with Paramount, or Amazon TV.A little history, many years ago we had a standalone ROKU device that worked fine however wanted better picture quality with a new flatscreen TV. Went with Amazon Firestick and that solved the problem however it seems almost every year we needed to replace the Firestick due to buffering issues or the Firestick just failed to turn on.Back in October 2023, my Firestick was having buffering issues once again however on my iPad no buffering issue, so I suspected it wasn't an Internet throughput issue. I decide to look at the ROKU and Firestick and went with the Firestick one more time due to price. The Firestick worked for 3 months and buffering issues began again. Rebooted the Firestick, upgraded the software and removed the nonessential apps and still issues. Bit the bullet and ordered the ROKU and no issues any longer. Please save yourself the aggravation of using the Amazon Firestick and move to ROKU as will do for our other 2 TV's when the buffering becomes unbearable.
