An excellent book.
One of the best presents I have ever received was a Tablet for my birthday last year. Without it, I wouldn't have discovered this extremely enjoyable book. I was looking for something different to read, and I always search for authors that I am not familiar with in the hopes that I will stumble upon the early writings of the next Steven King, Piers Anthony, etc. A Well Kept Secret is definitely one of those types of books. I never wanted to put it down, and I would leave my Kindle going, so that whenever I wished I could just lay down on the bed and begin reading again. I would sleep a few hours, and then begin reading again. I was that enthralled with this story. If you are into mystery, Middle Ages, and all of the Celtic/Gaelic legends such as King Arthur, The Holy Grail, etc, then this book is written just for you!

Young adult book, needs editing, but a fun read
This book should be shelved in the young adult section of the library. I found it to be a fun romp across Britain through the early Middle Ages. The social behavior of the freshman collage students seemed implausible and more realistically that of freshman high school students. The modern dialogue was awkward and I frequently had the impression that the Kindle version I downloaded was an unedited copy.

the Well Kept Secret
I enjoyed this book very much. For a first time writer he kept the story moving and i enjoyed how he wove children's stories and rhymes in a way that fit into the story.i

Well written story! I could not put it down!
The history lesson about England in beginning of the 11th century was very enlightening for me. I can not say more or spoil the book!

A great read!
This is a facinating tale of myth and mystery. It is well researched and provides the reader an up close and personal view of the social and political society of the Middle Ages. The characters are well drawn and there is plenty of adventure and excitement.

Good Adventure Story
This historical novel of adventure, for young adults, gives a very concise picture of a slice of English history. A first novel for this scholarly author, it is well-researched and historically accurate yet accessible. A good choice for young people interested in learning about medieval England.

Three Stars
Plot isn't very plausable, but the historical picture of life in England between 1000 and 1100 was fascinating.
