Ontario Knives Oyster/Clam Knife

I use this knife to open large gulf oysters, and it does the job brilliantly. Sharpened point is thick enough to enter the hinge cleanly, offering plenty of leverage to twist or lever open. The handle offers just enough "rubbery torque flex" to increase twisting pressure relative to limits of conventional wooden and plastic handles, a nice design enhancement. Edges of blade come quite sharp (one short edge and one long edge), allowing for a very clean swipe cut of the inner muscles connecting the meat to the shell, and allowing this knife to double handsomely as a clam opener tool. Recommended highly.

The blade & point are great, but when torquing the handle it feels a bit too soft.

The handle on this knife turns when you pry on the oyster. Very disappointed, broke the first time I used it.

I love this knife. I bought one last year for myself, and bought two more for gifts.This is a tool for the novice or pro.

Great knife, one of my favorite shellfish knives. Has a good point and a small edge for oysters and a longer edge for clams.
