Wonderful quality pencil for such a reasonable price. They are a little soft so blend really well.

Staedtler has a pretty solid reputation for their products and this is not their fault. I got this beautiful set of pencil crayons as a Birthday present for my granddaughter and had bought some How to Draw cute books to add along with it and a diary for her to doodle up. Well, right from the moment I opened the box, the damages to the pencil crayon box were both obvious and saddening. The front cover was very badly torn, the lid was unsealed and also damaged. No way to send it as a gift. Thanks to COVID-19, we are doing our Christmas and her birthday present exchange early before any lockdown, so there is something for her to unwrap. This won't make it and I am, to say the least, very disappointed. Nothing else in the shipment had any damage, not even soft cover books. How could an Amazon representative even place this in the box looking like this, and at this particular time of the year when many items are gifts? Have never been so let down by Amazon before. :(

I always went for Staedtler for its high quality, and I knew that the ones made in Germany could be bought with your eyes closed, because they would be good.At Amazon they usually had the asians ones ( a no-no) and the German and Europeans ones ( a yes yes).Last year I almost bought the ones that had some of the title written in German that was MADE IN GERMANY.This year I did some research and this seemed to be the good ones. While they aren't the ones made in china (pure garbage), it *SEEMED TO BE THE GERMAN ONE*. BIG MISTAKE! It's from INDONESIA and the wood is of the lowest cathegory, the mine is hard, dry, nothing better than a school pencil. It is sharpened so bad that some wood could hurt your fingers. I miss the German Staedler. EVEN YOU, BRUTUS???Please, don't end up with our beloved quality Staedtler! When even German start selling their products in Asia, it is because something is really going badly with the world commerce. So sad....

I use these pencils all the time. I love how vibrant the hues come out on paper. They are a great intermediate artists pencil. This was however the first time I’ve ordered them through Amazon, and I am disappointed because just about all the pencils have broken lead. When you try and sharpen them they continue to break. I will continue to buy these pencils, but through a store, not Amazon. I am assuming during shipping the boxes of pencils were dropped causing the lead to fracture.

So first of all,. These are well made pencils. However they are not perfect. I think for the money they are worth it,. But I would only recommend for those who know how to use pencils like Crayola first. These are not for first time users. Imho
