BirkenstockBlue Footbed Casual (Sport)

Improved the fit and long term comfort of every shoe I have ever used them in--worth every penny.
I've used this type of Birkenstock insert for over 20 years....possibly as long as 25. I have at least a half dozen pairs two of which date to my first purchases of them in the 1990's. The oldest are so worn the blue cloth that gives them their name is gone entirely from the tops. All that is visible is the cork lining material which is slowly thinning at the heel. As they thinned I noted that they also became somewhat more flexible but they still get use in my least worn shoes and slippers. The arch remained intact. I have never seen the need to throw a pair away. The newer sets get switched between shoes all the time as needed. I have used them in styles of footwear ranging from slip-ons to hiking boots and though they are pricey their durability compensates for the initial expense. They have seen service in both long hours of standing at work as well as during many miles of long distance hiking. I am habituated to their feel after all these years and consider them essential now given that the typical pair of shoes these days comes with little or no arch support. When I put a pair of these in a brand new shoe it feels exactly like all the rest of the shoes that preceded it. I usually just insert and wear these on top of any padded lining already in any new pair of shoes but I suppose one could put them under those linings for a bit softer feel. That said--and though they are very stiff especially when new--it has never bothered me to have them in direct contact with my feet even for long periods of time. I regularly hike wet areas in which my boots and socks become saturated. Apparently these are entirely waterproof because once dried on my boot dryer they appear none the worse for wear. One pair has been through many such wet dry cycles and still shows no signs of deterioration.

Perfect support
These are so supportive and help make my long walks or standing on my feet comfortable for hours.

Best arch supports I've ever found.
I'm an active retiree, who goes to the gym several times a week and plays up to 54 holes of golf (walking at least 18) every week. I paint - standing up. You get the point. I've been wearing arch supports for nearly 30 years. They're in my golf shoes (trail runners), casual shoes and boots - even slippers. And I've had all types. Recently, I needed to get a couple more. And it made sense to me to find the same type I had in my most comfortable shoes. So I pulled them out - but, because I'd been wearing them so long, couldn't make out any name. However, they had a distinctive piece of metal on the bottoms. An image search on the internet helped me identify them as Birkenstocks. I purchased two pair. They're as good as the old ones.

Great insert that provides great support for my feet
This is the second pair of Birkenstock footbed inserts that I have purchased from Amazon. I have flat feet, and plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my feet so I need all the help I can get! I put them in my tennis shoes (take out liner) and boots, and even my slippers. They are expensive but well worth the money. I’m able to walk longer and they definitely help me stay active and on my feet.

These work for me.
I have zero arch and I pronate. Great combination.I have spent $400 on custom full length arch supports. I have also spent $35 on other supports here on Amazon. I decided to give these Birkenstock supports a try. These half length supports are as good as any and feel perfectly comfortable. More importantly, they do for me what I need.If you pronate, buy good quality shoes the provide good native support. No aftermarket supports can overcome shoes that lack this basic requirement if you need the support. This is THE most important factor.I am very happy with this purchase.Ordering is key and is difficult. Be careful. Most of us have “normal” width feet. The width of the supports is not readily stated and I inadvertently ordered incorrectly and had to return. These are my second pair. I am pleased with their durability which is why I ordered a second pair. They do not damage my shoes but they do leave a mark on the shoe’s insole. Unlike others, including my expensive custom insoles, it will not be necessary to remove most shoe insoles because these take so little space. Also be careful to know if returns are free.In conclusion, order accurately and give these a try.

Great assist to reform the metatarsal arch
These are fantastic at reforming a sagging or collapsed metatarsal arch on the bottom of your foot ... I won't leave my home without these in my shoes ... HIGHLY recommended and they last forever ... they seem to be made in some sort of injection mold ... I got my first pair about 20 years ago and they are still in the same shape as when I bought them ...

great half insert they are unisex
Listing says they are womens, but I've bought the same ones elsewhere. They are unisex. Works well for me (male)This is my second set. I bought the first one at an orthopedic shoe store. One of the best inserts I've found for the price. Scholls charges the same amount for what they call premium inserts that softens in 2 weeks. But the hardcore shoe insert fanatics will say Scholls are crap and don't address the real issue of arch support.I've tried metal plate reinforced inserts, solid plastic, but this one provides good support for my flattening arch and stays in place pretty well in the shoe. Good arch support. Feels a little narrow for my feet. Maybe they are for women!! but it softens up a bit as you wear it but the arch support remains. If you try this insert and are not used to the stiffness do not give up on these. Give it a week or so for them to soften up/your feet to adjust. I weigh about 220lbs. If you are lighter than me the inserts might not soften up as fast.

Works better than expected
Didn't know what to expect from these. I'd tried the $500 custom made orthodics my doctor arranged for, they sucked. Then I found the Dr. Scholls custom fit series which worked better for a few months. These are much better then either. I didn't have high expectations for the cork? like material these things use but was pleasantly surprised. Fit is important with these in terms of where the ball of your foot sits, so make sure to follow the sizing directions properly. A bit expensive, but we'll worth it for flat foots.
