ASK0501W Ceiling Heater 500W 120V

What can I say, it is a great heater. I installed it for a friend and they are very satisfied with it. Great quality, easy to install.

The installation of this heater was reasonably straight forward. Instructions were reasonably clear. The first issue we ran into was that the heater and its accompanying brackets are designed for ceiling/roof supports/joists to be at 16 inch centers. Ours are 24 inch centers.. Some minor carpentry work and I was able the 'shim' the gap to install the heater.The primary issue with this heater is the white steel cover that is designed to allow airflow and provide a decorative cover over the heater. This is what you see after installation. The spring fasteners that hold the cover to the box, and hence to the ceiling, are a bit too weak. Even after adjusting the width of the springs, they can barely hold the weight of the steel cover. If you are not careful, the cover will drop down. Not fall off, just descend the few inches that the spring holders allow. We'll see if the cover will remain in place without some sort of mechanical assistance.An additional issue with the cover is that it does not hold flush to the ceiling. This seems to a manufacturing issue in the way the cover is formed. The long sides are flush to the ceiling, but the shorter ends are not. There is a gap at both ends. A casual observer may not notice it (who looks closely at the ceiling?) but we installed the heater, noticed the gap, and cannot 'unsee' it.Worth returning? After the wiring and cutting and shimming the hole in our ceiling. No! Just a bit disappointed in the manufacturing of the cover.

Shipping Packing Must Be Better! 1st heater was a damaged repack, only way to explain the type of damage the unit had. 2nd heater shipping box looked good just 1 small crumpled corner but the heater inside was dented as if it was dropped. So when shipping this item there should be a lot more packing around the heater box. 3rd heater was installed without any issues. It was easy. It is very quite. I'd like a stronger fan to push the heat down better but by the time you get out of the shower the bathroom is warm.

The heaters don't put out that much heat but that's to be expected with a 120v heater. My big problem is that the covers don't stay up. They have the old tension springs that don't hold the cover in place. I've tried spreading the springs out to make them stay but the cover is so heavy that it just drops back down again. I'm going to have to put a screw through it or something which is going to look terrible. I bought two of them. I would take them out and put something else in if it wouldn't be such a huge pain in the ass not including the additional expense.

The output of heat is pretty good, though not as good as I anticipated. Takes a little longer but does the job.

I ordered two and one cover came damaged. I called and they quickly sent a replacement. That cover came damage too. I called and said please have someone inspect the cover and send just the cover after inspection. They did replace it with a new cover. The clips on the cover is very cheaply done and the wire was bent out of shape. It takes a while to heat up unlike the old cheap one I had in there prior. But it’s better looking then the old style
