Consumer Advocate first has to get this disclaimer out. This was n advance sample sent from the manufacturer for evalualation. This has has not influenced my opinion, after living with the product. Britta seems to bvn upcoming company building slur lighting in unusual configurations. They advertise a more Scandnavia influence on design. The construction is lightweight and minimalist in construction but of very good materials. The original product I saw was the Britta RAY, as in the fish, design which I truly unique in quality lightweight plastic, a rubber sealed on off switch and much better then expected illumination over a wide area. I own ten along my walks. There are issues. The orange spikes are very fragile and snap off where they enter the post. Insert in very moist soil tona dept covering al least snow inch ofnthe metal tube. You will not have a problem. I got a sample of this sand timer shaped moonlights. They are watertight, easy to service the battery and rust free construction. They are superb for that moonlit dinner on the patio instead of candles. They use yellow golden LEDs and my lady friend gave me credit for a good idea for a change. The top screws off to access the on- off switch and the battery. The one thing i noticed is that these lights have well engineerd battery compartments designed to actually replace the battery. Too many imported solar lights make it impossible to get to the battery and then you find cheapest 400 mah nicad leaking acid and spewing rust. Usually 30g wire is used which breaks as soon as know separate the lamp parts. These candles are different. Britta has U.S. based HUMAN support. One last point- these lights are extremely light. On a windy day, put a small pics of clear Velcro on the bottom. In fact, this is something I hope Britta will include.
