OtterBox Elevation Tumbler with Closed Lid - 10OZ - Stainless Steel

It DOES keep things hot. It does not fit in a car cup holder, and it's rather awkward because you really need to stretch your hand to fit around it - uncomfortable to hold for very long. Also, and worst of all, when the lid is shut, it leaks (and not a little, it really POURS out!). I re-read the description and it does not claim to be leak proof, but coming from a company that makes water tight phone cases, I just assumed it would be leak proof . . . . a lot to spend on a travel cup that leaks.

I like the unique shape and size of this cup, but the design has a major flaw. The lid has two holes to let air in while you drink, but the stopper only plugs one of the holes. The other is left totally open. You can see it in the attached photo, where the left-side vent hole has a corresponding stopper, but the right-side vent hole does not. So the cup leaks if the liquid reaches that hole. I'd be fine with it if this were a cheap cup, but it's not.It looks like they went through some effort to seal the left-hand hole, which makes no sense. Why seal it at all if they are going to leave the other one open, meaning the cup has to be kept upright not to leak?

This mug definitely does what it is designed to do. It keeps coffee hot, and I mean hot not warm, for many hours. My complaints have nothing to do with it's ability to do what it is supposed to do but with this type of mug in general. It is 'weighty', has no handle (I find this cumbersome) and the top is not easily removed (makes sense that it must fit tight.) Ergo the four stars.

This cup kept my coffee hot all day. I served myself coffee in the morning. Took a sip. Didn’t have a chance to drink it again til about 3,pm thinking it was going to be cold. I was warm to hot. Wow! It was worth the buy. Easy to clean. Buy one. You’ll love it.

Given as Christmas presents (and one to myself). Otterbox makes great products - I'm slightly biased considering I used to work for them - but that doesn't change the fact that Otterbox makes practical, well made products with a fantastic warranty.
