The gloves are amazing comfy on the inside, as they are lined with something soft and have a surprising amount of insulation in them, probably feels like half an inch, they work great for welding but for radiant heat like oven mitts or whatnot are not the best, after 15 seconds it gets too hot and i have to take my hand both away from the cookie sheet and out of the glove.they are also grippier than my old pair and even with a bit of grease and oil on them still work just fine. also somewhat resilient against sharp objects and tearing, such as the edge of a freshly cutoff piece of metal.But i will say this, the threading on the right thumbs' seam started coming out after a bit of use, so far it hasn't opened up yet but it is concerning that it could come apart if it tears anymore just form normal use, and for that im going to knock a star off. Otherwise these gloves are superb.

These gloves are great! I use these while camp cooking with a dutch over. I can pull coals out of a fire to place on top of the oven and hold them for about 5 full seconds before things get a little too hot for comfort. No, they're not all too attractive, but after a few good uses the carbon and ash dulls the bright blue. For the price, this is a great deal.

I was actually looking forward to receiving these. We have a wood burning stove we use often. But I was opening the door with the gloves on and it got Hot on the finger...And it only takes a second to open the door,, I never expected that. Even using the gloves I already had didn't do that...and they weren't made for use with a fire. It kind of bummed me out because I assumed I wouldn't have to worry about burning myself. But just opening the door!!? Very disappointing. I could open the door with Regular thick garden gloves and not worry. So basically I have to be extra careful each time I do a fire. 😞

We have a wood stove in our home and the handles get pretty hot. I bought these to use while I stoked the fire etc. They don't work well at all. The first time I grabbed a hot pan from the top of the stove I burned my pointer finger and inside of my thumb. Don't recommend them. I think I would rather use my cotton oven mitts.

They certainly do their job. I primarily use them when melting aluminum and I have been impressed with how well they work. I only began to slightly feel warm after being near the fire for a few minutes. I even instinctively grabbed a chunk of hot aluminum without thinking and was okay. It did singe my gloves so I wouldn't really recommend playing with molten metal or anything, but I didn't get burned at all. These gloves kept my hands perfectly safe

The gloves look and fit nicely however the inside liner is not quality and actually has some bare spots that allow your hand to have only the leather between your skin and the hot item you are handling. I was working with metal that was about 400 degrees and found one of those bare spots - not pleasant.

I purchased these gloves to use at welding school. I have been in welding for 1.5 years and this is the first pair I have used that had a hole after a week and a half of use (7 usage days). Will never order these again.
