Not the best he has ever written
As an introduction to people not familiar with his work it may be OK, but I found it repetitive of previous ideas, just presenting them in a different way.

"Ego" pumps
Dennett is, rightly, a giant in philosophy. This book, however, is a series of ego pumps for his own views with some OK thinking methods and advice. There are some parts which are good but the constant self-references to how "clever he is" damages its, and his, credibility. Within the book he also cheats in how we runs his arguments by committing some of the very slights of philosophical hand which he criticises in others. He has written much better books. My advice would be to avoid this one if you like Dennett; it might change your mind about him. It is a shame that such a once great thinker has succumbed to the vanity that he has solved philosophy (or at least parts of it). Wittgenstein thought that but then realised he had not... not sure if Dennett's ego will let him into that same realisation.
