It does just an OK job for frizzy or curly hair and does not work well at all with thin hair. I can't say this won't work for some people, but my hair is thick and has a medium type wave or curl, but is very soft. This thing ripped hair out of my head with every pass through, it was pretty painful. I mainly got this for my 11 year old, who has mostly straight, thin hair, just some mild waves. I figured it would be good for her to quickly put a nice finished look on her hair before school etc. However, because her hair is fine, it slipped right through and did absolutely nothing. Also, if there are any waves close to the scalp or face, you can forget it, in any hair type circumstance. I fired it up the day it came in and used it on me, my 18 year old, and my 11 year old and it was overall, a fail for all 3 of us. I am returning it and will just teach her how to safely use a real flat iron. I have had the same Babyliss for over 5 years, and it is simply amazing.

I really wanted this to work, that's why I bought one for me and my sister. We both have curly hair, so if this brush really worked it would have saved us so much time! Unfortunately, this brush did not do the job. It did not get hot enough and it hurt going through my hair. I believe because of the plastic bristles. It looks like a brush but does not go through the hair like one. I ended up returning both.

I was so so excited to get this. I wanted to badly to love it but I just can't. It arrived securely packaged. It's great quality too. I love the hair brush! I really didn't think that I was going to. The bristles are a really soft plastic though I do wish they were a tad more firm. I didn't think it was going to untangle my hair but it did. Even fresh out of the shower wrapped in a towel hair. Amazing. The clamps are pretty cool too. I like how the pink part is adjustable. I didn't use the glove but it looked like it was made well and would protect from burns. The heat resistant slip cover is great too!I tested the straightener brush on my hair and my sister's. I have fine, medium, color treated haired my sister has thick, coarse, virgin hair. We had the same results. I feel like this should actually be labeled as a "Smoothing" brush rather than a "Straightening" brush. It took longer for me to smooth our hair with this than if I were to use my flat iron. I did like that my hair wasn't lifeless and pinned to my head though. I also noticed that after my sister's hair was done, there was some static when I used the brush on my hair. I'm not sure howe to fix that being that there's wires in the brush. I also didn't like the placement of the buttons. They are on the side and when you're holding the brush, the temperature may change. If the buttons are going to be there, they should have a way to lock the temperature. The default temperature degree setting is Celsius so you'll have to change it to Fahrenheit every time you use it. I kept the hair brush but gave the rest to my sister.I do have to say that this is a well made product. Each item was made with the highest quality. I wish I could love it as much as I wanted to but I just couldn't. My sister really liked it though, she's 16. Maybe I didn't like it so much because I'm older, 29 =/

This straightener has done a great job at straightening my hair. On Friday I wanted to get my hair straightened professionally for Passover however, my hair technician was out of town. I have been waiting for the opportunity to use this new straightener so I plugged it in and went to town, I divided my hair in half and straightened first the right then left sides so you could see a comparison for before and after considerations.My hair has so much texture that it did not get as straight as people with just waves but it did get straighter. The hair straightener gets it straighter but the amount of time that takes is crazy and the damage done to my hair by the plates isn't good.It took me all of twenty minutes to straighten my entire head of various textures. My only complaint is the positioning of the power button. It is a horrible design and turned off about eight times during my twenty minute straightening session. This is a huge concern as you want to have temperature control during use and its quite annoying to have to wait for it to heat back up while you have somewhere to be.I received this item in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
