Easy to read and fast-paced
I love Todd Friel and this book was really easy to read and fast-paced. He emphasizes raising the church's view of the Bible by elevating the Word of God above what's "in" at the moment and making a difference at the local level, in our local church. We Christians need to pray for discernment for ourselves, for our local body of believers and for the church as a whole! I recommend this book.

Great book highly recommend!!
Todd explores the REAL meaning of these words given to us in the word of God. So many Christians have been lied to about keeping their mouths shut when they should be speaking out in Love, they have been lied to that it is okay to go to venues that are not of God when they should be admonished with Love. Great read for getting us back in God's favor. He exposes what can only be called "the tomfoolery" inside some of the more prominent churches of our day.

Don't knuckle under out of context verse flinging
Jesus and the Epistle writers all said in dozens of places to judge false prophets, false doctrines and other flat out evil as what it is: evil. Even one of the Gifts of the Holt Spirit is discernment. So Christians are expected to call evil things evil, stupid things stupid, and insane things ape crazy. Todd does so with humor (though sometimes snarky) to cut some of the edge off his accurate accusations. Try reading the Martin Luther - Erasmus debate (via letters which both accidently sent copies of all the letters to printers to publish) if you really want to see name calling and champion insult exchanges.

Convicting, Bible centered, eye opening, and holding Christians accountable to the Word of God.
Highly recommend this book for any and all Christians but especially for those in positions of leadership in our churches. Recognize the non -biblical actions that are taking place in our houses of worship. Great motivation to stand on The Word of God and put a stop to the feelings based bubblegum preaching that is not directly sourced from God's Word and change our churches.

when others just act like it isn't there
Todd Friel has the fortitude to say that there is an elephant in the room, when others just act like it isn't there. He uses satire, but behind it all it is seen that his heart is broken at what he sees. While I do not agree with every single thing he says, he hits the nail on the head again and again. It is a good book to read for someone with an open mind, and who then will honestly take time to consider what has been said.

A Must-Read for Every Follower of Christ
My husband and I are reading this aloud together and learning so much. We sensed everything wrong with the modern Churchianity movements... but failed to put into words what Todd Friel has done so concisely and backed with scripture in it's truest context. Having the formidable gift of discernment myself... I was convicted where I need to grow as a believer and in the same way, I was strengthened and encouraged in holding fast to the purity of the Gospel and the passion for fighting for the faith. Get this book and lovingly encourage your fellow brethren to come out of Apostasy and get back to basics.

Great book about relevant topics for Christians.
This is a very important book for today's Christianity. Mr. Friel writes in an enjoyable way about many true questions that are relevant to all Christians. He references his positions on the Word of God and is concise and witty on his writing. This is a must read book that surely will make us think and rethink many positions that we hold. Great book.

Get ready to get convicted!
This is a really good book, and correctly identifies so many unfortunate truths of modern Christianity and the modern "Church". HOWEVER...... unless you have a snarky sense of humor, AND are ready to have your toes stepped on, you will probably not like this book. Because theres too much truth-iness in it for the prosperity gospel crowd to get down with.

An Excellent Read
What I most like about this book is that Todd Friel doesn't just point out what is wrong in so many of our Churches - He tells you what you can start doing to improve things.Expect controversial subjects to be covered and you will not be disappointed, things like:HomosexualitySame-sex marriageIllegal immigrantsBad worship songs and practices.....I could go on and on, this book covers a whole range of topics. I have found it challenging and very informative.

Makes you think!
This book has lots of great points about how the church has started to stray away from biblical principles and introduce worldly ways into it's services and the way it portrays it's self to the community to be more seeker friendly. I have seen many of these things in churches and this book captures them very well.

Spot on
Excellent book, Todd is not afraid to say it how it is. There is a great deal in this book that warns, helps, and encourages, a must read

Thoroughly excellent; a sobering and unapologetic reminder of who and what we're supposed to be as a church.
My only complaint is that it's not available physically in this country, but if that were to change, I'd happily add a fifth star.

It is a very wise, well written book. It does not only point out problems. But solutions. I am humbled by it. There is work to do.
