I've tried three text books: this is easily the best
I'm a full-time maths tutor. The new 9-1 syllabus made all my old text books slightly obsolete, so I purchased three text books, of which the Collins is easily the best (in fact the only good one). Here's details of all three:I first purchased the Pearson text book. I tried to get on with it but hated it so much that i had to sell it after a year (too much useless info, very difficult to navigate, absurd colour scheme). Then I tried the Oxford text book - which at Foundation just doesn't have enough material so I assume the higher will be the same.In exasperation I bought the Collins one, having enjoyed their text book for the previous syllabus. At first I was sceptical - the pages seemed really thin. Soon I realised this is because it is packed full of questions (there is a lot more content in the 9-1 syllabus compared to the old A-G syllabus). It's easy to navigate, easy on the eye, and has plenty of practice questions. in short, don't bother with the other books, just get this one! Hope that helps someone avoid the mistakes I made.

My favourite of the currently available maths GCSE 1-9 textbooks
I have looked at most, if not all, and the Collins books are my favourite of the published text books for the new 1-9 maths GCSE. Good explanations and examples with plenty of questions for students to do. Answers are in the back of the book. The design, although in colour throughout, is not over-the-top with pointless cartoon characters all over the place. It is attractive, accessible but grown-up. The authors have not fallen into the trap of trying to force everything into an "explanation on the left page and questions on the right page" format favoured by some publishers but which means difficult explanations are crowded and easy areas are too spread out, or not enough questions are provided. The authors of this book have avoided such constrictions and it is so much the better for that. Highly recommended.

The chapters covering the new topics are detailed and the questions are quite good. The whole algebraic proof chapter is missing
Most of the content in this new edition is identical to the previous "new gcse" textbooks, with a question added here and there. The chapters covering the new topics are detailed and the questions are quite good. The whole algebraic proof chapter is missing; there was a good set of questions in the previous edition. There are quite a few typing mistakes.Answers are not printed in the textbook, and have to be accessed online. Most importantly the pages are so thin that the textbook will barely last a few weeks!Overall it is a textbook which provides plenty of practice, just like the previous edition, but the missing chapter and answers, along with the poor quality of the actual physical product make it a disappointing purchase.

Good quality
I bought it for my son. There are no answers on the book, you have to download the answers yourself.

Creased cover
Very informative book which covered year 9 - year 11. When it arrived, the cover were slightly creased despite it being 'Brand New' but, apart from that, it was very good.
