Biona Sweet & Smoky Jackfruit in Can Organic, 400 gm

I am NOT a card-carrying V (vegan or vegetarian). I say this so you know I eat a wide variety of foods.I love Jackfruit. It is my second (possibly first now) favorite fruit after a Granny Smith Apple (crunchy, green, sweet).Jackfruit is NONE of the above (with apple flavour) OR it can be ALL of the above.That is why I love it.It replaces protein, (by replicating the TEXTURE of meat), by mixing with ANY beans EASILY.It can take on ANY flavour combination you want to try (NB: get the PLAIN Jackfruit if you wish to really experiment).For THIS particluar product, my preference is to drain 90% of juice; I then (using 2 forks but other options) shred the jackfruit thoroughly.I make my own toamato (based) sauce, add to my liking, ALL the spices I care to try + plus beans of choice.I go for a more Mexican flavour mainly; I like to add a few roughly chopped up jalapenos and chilli flakes fo extra punch.MIX EVERYTHING in one bowl.Microwave (or hob) for required time, stir repeat, stir repeat. Leave to cool.I tin of this Jackfruit + 1 tin/pack of burritto/taco bean etc. mix lasts me 3 meals.

Just put it in the frying pan with some oil and it chars up real nice!

Has a strange cloying flavour. Something more subtle would ne much better.

Tasted very vinegary not sweet
