Volkman Seed Avian Science Super Cockatiel with Sunflower Bird Food 4lb

It is as advertised. Much better than the run of the mill box store feeds. One thing to be aware of when comparing to other brands is the nutritional value. I've noticed with a lot of seed blends, they include crunchy bits that my birds typically do not eat. Most likely, those crunchy bits are where most of the vitamins are contained. So even though that food may appear to be nutritionally sound, if your pet does not eat those particular bits - it may not be the best thing for them. Volkman doesn't include those crunchy bits and my birds eat just about all of what is included so I am sure they are getting a decent diet. This seed is also very clean in that it doesn't contain the dust that some others do. It appears to be very fresh as well.

Several of the reviews of this product focus on price and value. Quite frankly, I am turned off by those sorts of reviews. I want quality, not the cheapest decent product that I can find. What attracted me to this seed was that it was primarily seed and not a bunch of stuff that my Peaches just won't eat. Peaches loves it, and I get a tray full of seed hulls, not a few seed hulls and a bunch of stuff that I've paid for that are just going to be thrown out. I am very happy with this product, and it will certainly become our main seed purchase.If you're main concern is quality and not price, then I highly recommend this product.

Ordered the mix with sunflower seed, however I received the sunflower seed free mix. I was disappointed (as is my peach face), but was I am completely out of food and didn't have the time for the return / reship for the correct product. Could just be that I'm missing the sunflower which my bird loves, but the seed seems to be very heavy in millet with little else. I've ordered this before and never had this issue though. in the future i'll make sure I have enough time to return if I don't get what I ordered, but it will do for this round.

Volkman’s Cockatiel food is the best for our little Cockatiel “Chico” it’s fresh, not loaded with sunflower seeds as filler & it’s nutritious for our little feather baby. This is the 5th bag that I’ve ordered & she loves it!

My bird is a very picky eater she really seems to like the seeds. Seems very fresh other seeds seem to have a lot of dust in them. These seeds even to the bottom don't have any dust.

Hmm. While the sticker tag was correct, I recieved a bag of hookbill feed. Sure, Cockatiels are hookbills, but my guy is still a youngin and doesn't quite know what to do with big stuff like banana chips and peppers!! I had to break them up a bit. Also, no sunflowers :/The packaging is new, there's a cockatoo in the front, implying med/large hookbills. I prefer the old packaging. This bag separated at the glued sides so easily, and once I discovered I'd opened it wrong, I had a difficult time prying the "zipper" pieces apart. I was very anxious to add the new stuff to his old feed, we were running pretty low. Glad I saved my previous bag.+ side: it is pretty fresh stuff and my Dorky bird went right for it.

My birds like this type of feet I've tried several different kinds and the one that they particularly like the most I order it every month but one month I was sent some Grey Parrot feed which is very unusual for me because I order the same thing all the time but other than that I like this product it's very good my birds like it a lot and I recommend it for cockatiels

My cockatiels love this stuff. They don't usually eat all the extra stuff but they love this. I wonder if it's just because the "extra" stuff is dried fruit and veggies and not flavored cheerios or whatever it is in other food. The food itself smell like oranges. The seeds in it are seed I've looked into to supplement their usual seed. I go to feed them and they run to it like they haven't eaten in days. It's great! They love it
