It's not compatible with the Roku 3 in my opinion. I have a 4.5 year old Roku that works fine but I wanted to see if the new one would perform a little faster as far as navigating through the menu and they offer more channels too. My internet speed is only 3 mbs so I didn't expect too much improvement with streaming. I ordered this remote with the new Roku 3 because many people complained about the new gaming controllers using up batteries too fast.They claim it works with many different models but what I found out was that I have to get up and stand right in front of the Roku box in order for it to function. I'm talking within 6 feet or less!! As you get even closer it responds better so 3 feet away is about where it functions properly. It took two phone calls to Roku support, the second one lasting 45 minutes, to get them to acknowledge that this remote might have to be closer to the box to function and that a remote without the gaming and headphone capabilities wouldn't use as much battery. The Roku 3 uses RF technology and the older ones, including this remote, use IR. My old remote functions just as this one does. You need to be right in front of it to work. So beware of the claim that this works with the Roku 3. Technically it will operate but to me if you have to be within 5 feet or less, that doesn't count.

This replacement arrived in one day and it worked just fine. I bought this after reading a number of reviews. Seems like most people who needed a replacement had a puppy who chewed the original Roku remote. I was no exception. And I didn't learn the first time. After the new puppy chewed the original remote, the new puppy chewed the replacement that I got from Amazon. I do believe that there is something in the plastic that the puppies cannot resist. So my second replacement is now stored on the mantelpiece when I'm not using it. I'm very happy that i figured this out and that Amazon had a replacement for me.

i think this remote is a little over priced, but hey what are you gonna do? t worked on my roku as soon as i put in the batteries. no set up or anything. my wife was salty i didnt spend the several extra $$$ for the shortcuts. come on how hard is it to hit home and select your app? my 3 year old can do it without any problems. save the $$$

Couldn't decide weather to give a 4 or 5 star because this remote gives what it promises. I have a Roku 3 and didn't know if it would work because it said it would work with the stick and Roku 1 and 2 but after putting in batteries it worked just fine. Sometimes I didn't even have it pointed at the box and it would work. No it is not the quality of the original remote but there is a big difference in price so with that reasoning I feel it deserves the 5 star rating.

This is such a simple remote, that it borders on unexciting. I got it, put the batteries in and immediately started working. It's been several weeks now and it's still doing it's thing. I don't have much else that I can say about it because of how boring it looks. But it works, and that's all that mattered to me.

This is my 2nd one of these, my dog has developed a taste for Roku remotes. They are a reliable and cheap replacement that works well. One other reviewer mentioned having to point remote directly at unit and I also noticed that, works fine with accurate aim.

Just ordered two new remotes for our Roku boxes. I accept that the remotes are a bit flimsy and will need to be replaced (especially if you have five kids!) but I also highly recommend putting the Roku remote app on your smart phone. It works wonderfully and will save you money!

Someone who won't come forward lost my dang Ruku HD remote. We used an expensive multi programmable online remote which normally works great on anything in the house but it worked poorly on Ruku. No return button, always had to go back to the home screen.The cost of a replacement Ruku remote was ridiculous, may as well buy a new Ruku for those prices. This remote was cheap and it works just like the original, couldn't be more happy with it. Tip: hide your remotes when company comes over, especially with kids. :o) Highly recommended.
