This is an amazing read
could not put it down. It is incisive, sensitive writing about who we are and what we try to be. Ian McEwan is a magnificent writer.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fascinating
Drawing on real-life cases (not officially) for fictional purposes, presents reader with interesting and taxing moral dilemmas, though not quite convinced about the a-typical behaviour eventually exhibited by main character when the professional collides with the personal. Situation slightly strained credulity but a riveting tale anyway! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fascinating.

the legal and medical detail are so brilliantly written that you are gripped
Totally absorbing, elegantly written, the legal and medical detail are so brilliantly written that you are gripped. The characters are, as always with this author real human beings you care hugely about. A wonderful book.
