Wow! Something my son can relate to!
After my 7 year old son told me for the "gazillionth" time how much he really liked this book, I felt I had to write a review. He was diagnosed with ADHD within the last month of his first grade year. By then he was also struggling with low self-esteem, only a few loyal friends, continuous confusion about the sheer number of social rules and a general antipathy towards authority figures (namely parents and teachers). We read this book to him because we felt it helped to explain his ADHD in a way that we could not articulate. I was surprised when he told me how much he liked "Corey", because Corey was just like him. He began asking us to read it to him every night. I believe that the kid's level descriptions of his behavior helped him to understand his diagnosis. It has helped him to articulate his feelings, moods and describe his behaviors during the day. I am most thankful that he no longer exclusively responds with "nothing", when I ask how his day went. At times he just flips through the book, then he comes over to talk. I searched through a number of books and found this one matter of fact, without a sugary positive nor negative tone. It works for my family and I need to find more like it.

Fantastic book to understand ADHD!
Well written. Easy to understand. Every school library should have this book! It would be beneficial for people of all ages to read this book to bring awareness and educate them as what it is like for a child living with ADHD.

Definitely Recommend
My son says Cory is just like him and thanked me for buying him the book. I had left it out for him to discover in the morning and he noticed it and read it through right away, so the cover must look appealing as well, especially as he isn't normally big on reading. The book really helped him feel better about himself and see that there are lots of other kids like him. He also said he didn't know some of the things mentioned would be caused by ADHD and was very pleased that Cory had so many characteristics in common with him. Actually, when I read through I kept thinking how eerie it was how similar this fictional kid is to mine, almost an exact copy!My son is 8.

Perfect!
I bought this book for my 6 year old who has m believe naADHD. After he knows he has it, but I got the feeling he didn't really 'get' it , no matter how many times we explained it. When we read this book, his eyes lit up and said 'mommy this book was made about me! Every single thing is me!!' It made me tear up seeing him get happy that all the things he was going through didn't make him weird or a bad kid. He LOVES this book. The pictures aren't colored, and when he pointed it out I said he can color them, which he thought was awesome. My husband who also has ADHD read through it and nodded his head the entire time, like yup yup this is exactly how it is. As much as I know about it, this book was able to say exactly how it feels to have it in a way a non ADHD brain just doesn't understand. It goes through the way the boy feels, what he does, and his process of medicine, a 'talking dr', his parents, and how he still has to work hard at things, but with all the help his life is so much better. Highly reccomend, no matter what your doing to treat it, this book is the best I've found to help a kid understand ADHD and that they're not alone:)

Great story
When you little one feels like no one can relate to their disability or their alone in adhd this story helps. My son felt like no one else was struggling with adhd the way he was.

Excellent!
A wonderful book that helps children and even adults understand what it feels like to have ADHD. I think it really helped by 6 year old son understand that he is not alone in how he feels with this disorder. For the past two years we didn't know what was wrong with him, we thought that maybe he was just really hyper. When his teachers told us that his behavior was so bad at school they were thinking of putting him in a special class, we knew we had to do something. He was diagnosed with ADHD and is now in therapy and takes medication. We have noticed a huge difference. It feels good to know that we are not the only ones going through this, and that he is not a bad kid, he is just different. This book really helped to get that point across. I bought a few copies for his grandparents and teachers. A great recommendation for parents looking to explain their child's ADHD to them.

Informative but..
While diagnostically accurate, this book was not what I expected. The text is simply too dense and too much for children with ADHD to sit and read in a single sitting. However, broken into sections this book would be highly informative.

Great ideas for kids who struggle with following instructions and staying focused. Have shared with other parents and found great tips that took the stress out of the lives of families with these kinds of kids. Helped the kids too to see that they arent' the only ones with these problems. Explains things at a kids level! Love it!

not extraordinary but may be useful to some
When I first opened this book, Imy initial thought was what a ripoff; it's short, very American and almost no information. But strangely enough my 8yo son started reading it and indentified with some aspects of the main character.

Best kids ADHD book
I was very impressed when this book came in, it seemed to explain alot of what is going on in my sons head (he has ADHD). But the best bit was his reaction when I was reading it... he couldn't believe there were children out there that expiriences the same problems he does, and it really helped him to understand what is going on with him. A huge help.

Eye opening
It’s a good read for parents and family of kids with ADHD. Story follows Cory through daily relatable activities that I wasn’t aware of.

Lovely heart warming and positive
I feel this book gives a broad description of what a child living with ADHD experiences, while also being positive and uplifting in its description of what help there is for a child with ADHD and projecting the positives of having ADHD. So many books etc. focus on the negatives whereas this book tells a story that is truthful but is light hearted and optimistic.
