I like the variety of figures, both animals and people. However, all the figures are some variety of gray. I had hoped that the picture was in black and white but it is what they really look like. I will still keep them—my students will enjoy them regardless.

I really like SCS Direct figures, I collect them, so I ordered these. I will be giving them away. First, they are a completely different scale, larger than their other figures. Also, the Orcas are molded in two pieces and glued together, so there is a seam transversely around their "waist." I've always hated that. Otherwise the figures are great so if those two things don't bother you, go for it.

I don’t k ow what was on some of the animals that felt greasy to touch and that prevented themFrom absorbing the pain even after washing! Some of the bases were irreplaceably bent and couldn’t stand… over all the quality was bad I had to buy the colored ones for my sons project

I needed some polar animals for my preschoolers to have in a snowy sensory bin. These figures fit the bill. (most of these are bigger than a toilet tube opening-- Pictures show size next to rulers). The figures only come in light or dark gray, but there are a number of animals-- orca, narwal, walrus, seals (2 sizes), polar bears and cubs, skier, ice climber, dog sled set ( these are connected and do not detach) represented. There are also family sets of penguins. My only complaint is that the dog sleds, skiers and such are all pretty squished and either wont lay flat to stand up. The narwals have some twisty horns.
