These Ohio Stoneware weights have been great. Some homemade sauerkraut recipes recommend using a bowl filled with water to weight down the cabbage, etc. But these weights fit perfectly in the Ohio Stoneware crock. They are worth the money.

Amazon inscrutably found a problem with my first review, so I'll keep this super brief: The listing shows a set of crock weights in sizes 1, 3, and 5. Both photos show this and there is nowhere to choose a size. Plus it says, "Each weight is designed to fit in a specific gallon crock and the gallon capacity." Exactly one weight was delivered in size 1.EDIT: This started out as 1 star review, however I was contacted by Hugo with their customer service and he was able to resolve my issue. It looks like they are also updating the listing for accuracy and clarity. Many thanks for the resolution and the message is that the company will make the effort to have a satisfied customer.

They do all the things I needed them to do, great product love it.

Although functional for 1-gallon rocks, and of good quality, the ad is very misleading as it implies the weights are a set of three, in 1, 2, and 5-gallon sizes.Instead, only a 1-gallon weight is included, and no way to order the 2 or 5s.I had planned on a 5-gallon batch but the weight is insufficient for that size and had to revert to my 1-gallon crock.Rather disappointed as it turns out Not to be the great value I had anticipated and I will have to continue looking for the larger weights.
