Is this a semi-permanent or demi-permanent color? I want to mix it with conditioner to make it pastel, but if it's demi-permanent, I can't do that.

I don't know if this is semi or demi and the seller won't respond and neither will Amazon. I have used the violet with hair creme rinse and many times. It does not make it pastel. The deep color remains when mixing about 1/3 of a tube with a cup 2/3 of cup of creme rinse. Wrap you head in a plastic bag and leave on for at least 3hr, go into the sun if you can. It is beautiful. But I don't think this is authentic Pravana because the seller needs a license from Pravana company to get it and this seller nor Amazon will respond to questions about this product.

How long does chroma silk violet (purple) last ?

It totally depends on how often you wash your hair, what you wash it with, and the process you use to apply it to your hair. I've been able in winter to get a solid 2-3 months of beautiful color out of this and it's the only hair color I use for my purple.

My process: 
Double wash lightened hair with a clarifying shampoo but DO NOT USE CONDITIONER. The lightest your lightened hair should be is a dark yellow/light orange, the darkest for good coloration is a medium to dark orange. You want to leave some pigment in your hair so it bonds with the hair better.

Let hair 100% dry. I usually will shower in the morning/early afternoon and apply color at night. Brush thoroughly but carefully so you don't damage your hair.

Apply color. I use gloves, hair clamps (the jaw things that hold hair), news paper on floor and surfaces, an application brush,  and a dish. Section your hair and work color in thoroughly, layer by layer. After applying with brush I will go back and massage it in.

Braid/bun hair loosely and use bobby pins or snaps to keep stray hair from flying away. Cover everything with a shower cap and bobby pin/snap it to your hair line to secure it into place.

Dawn dish soap is your friend. If you have purple anywhere you don't want it use hot water and dawn and scrub.

Sleep on it. Or wash hair at night and do this in the morning. The goal is to keep the color on for 6-10 hours. It doesn't have any harsh chemicals and the longer it stays on, the better it penetrates and anchors onto your hair. Semi Permanent colors are basically hair stains, the longer it's left on the longer it stays.

Take everything off and first rinse your hair with white vinegar. There is something chemical reaction wise that helps anchor the color better. Then rinse extremely well until no more color is coming out with as cool of water as you can possibly stand. Condition hair but skip the shampoo. It will be an extremely dark purple ebony color, but it will gradually lighten to a deep true purple, then a medium purple, then a light purple, then to pink/lavender/the color you lightened your hair to. Once your hair is lightened, you don't have to relighten it to redo the purple, just apply the color without stripping what's left. It ends up giving the hair high and low tones, making the purple look more "natural."

Color tips: Avoid hot water, shampoo, and chlorine as much as you can for longer color life. I don't have really greasy hair unless I'm working and sweating a lot, and even then I can usually rinse my hair really well under just water and shampoo next time. Use sulfate free color safe shampoo and conditioner.
