Cooking Through Trader Joe's Cookbook

I ordered this "cookbook" because I think Trader Joes is a great place to shop for unusual things that one does not regularly find in other grocery stores. The rave reviews were also a factor in ordering. Having received the book, I went back and read the reviews again. I wish I had paid attention to the two star reviews because I completely agree with both of the 2 star reviews. The "recipes" are juvenile, mundane, old fashioned and unhealthy. This is not an inexpensive cookbook. It occurred to me that if Trader Joes were to hand this book out free to the shoppers the staff would find many of the copies left behind. I returned this book the next day.

This is what I would call a "rip off." Nine dinner, 8 dessert, and 6 drink recipes. That is about 84 cents per recipe. Most are outstandingly unhealthy. I would stick with Trader Joe's online recipes. I was taken in by some of the reviewers and can only think that they don't cook much. If you don't "drink" much you are left with 17 recipes, 8 of which are mismashed dessers.

The book just arrived, it does seem like it has a handful of tasty recipes though not many. My bigger issue is that most of the pages are bound upside down and staggered unevenly. It just doesn’t seem worth the price to me.

I LOVE THIS COOKBOOK!!!! I love it so much that i purchased it for my sisters birthday and she said she was going to buy it for me when she received it in the mail! So far I’ve made two recipes in the book. Last weekend i made the vanilla bourbon French toast. This weekend i made the fried honey butter chicken sandwiches (photographed)... unreal, amazing, immaculate, that perfect balance of sweet and savory oooooh my goodnessss!!! I cooked the chicken in the air fryer bc I didn’t have enough oil and it was perfection. I’m having so much fun with this cookbook. What a worthwhile purchase!

Honestly I can’t give this cookbook enough stars. It is Amazing! Im always skeptical about buying cookbooks because I usually only like 1 or maybe 2 recipes at the most but this one is a HUGE hit! I have yet to find a recipe that my family doesn’t love. Seriously it’s SOOOO good! Worth every penny!
