This tug is made of rolled jute. It has a loose weave that makes it not too hard and somewhat flexible. Made in Germany.

Durable JUTE, Easy to take out.
The size and flexibility is great to take on walks to the park its not to flexible that it gets "tangled" inside my pockets like the a flat leather tug which is impossible to take out discretely. I don't use the cord what so ever so so I just loop it around with a clove hitch tied with half hitches that way it doesn't come undone and it's not a target for my dog to bite. My dog liked this tug better than the flat leather tug (she still likes the leather one a lot btw) since she's able to bit this one harder due to her not growing a top right molar and this thicker tug makes it easier to get a good tight grip which dogs love. Apart from not being flexible enough to not get tangle with my pockets it's stiff enough that my dog won't auto-reward when I'm trying to out her from the tug so she out's/releases the tug faster but it's flexible enough that I can play tug as I would with very flexible tug (flat leather tug). In regards with durability I think the ends of the tug (shown green in the picture, mine where black nylon webbing) should have better glue mine are starting to come undone, I'm currently looking for a good glue that will stick to the jute and the nylon webbing and that it's sufficiently flexible so that it won't break (like super glue does) when I'm playing tug. The jute seems to hold really well though.

I love the concept of the additional cord because it allows ...
Unfortunately, my K9 destroyed the binding on the end and subsequently dislodged the cord in one day. I love the concept of the additional cord because it allows use of the jute without having your hand close to her mouth but the construction needs to be improved such as possibly stitching the binding along with glueing to establish an indestructible bond. Even though the binding and cord didn't hold up, the quality of the jute itself is excellent. I used duct tape to put it back together and was even able to reinserted the cord and it's held up well. (good old duct tape!!) We have used used it daily and She loves it. I would buy again.

Great for powerful dogs
This is a tuff toy. I have a powerful Doberman that can tear apart just about anything and this toy lasts. It’s fun to play with and he really likes the jute.

Perfect size
This is the perfect size to carry along on walks an an impromptu tug secession and just the right amount of stiffness to teach the out command.

Fraying
the string broke off the first time I played with it. not a big deal. they need to plastic dip the tips so it stops fraying. I have 2 German shepherds that loved it but I will be going with the jute balls from now on.
