Great for mincing garlic
Works well for home use (I.e., a couple of cloves at a time). Can be easily cleaned with a brush. Resulting pieces are reasonably small. A quick & easy way to mince garlic. This is a solid tool that’ll last for a long time.

Liked it so much I bought another one!
I just looked at some of the other reviews...... I purchased mine in July 2018 and the one I received was the same high quality as the one I purchased at a store years ago. Not sure which seller is sending out the knockoff versions, but I purchased the one shipped direct from Amazon with no problems..Whenever I need to use this, it is always in the dishwasher because I use it so much. So I purchased another one.I love this and guests always comment that they are going to buy one after seeing me use it.It is simple and easy to clean, and does the job extremely quickly with no fuss.I can rapidly crush multiple garlic cloves by just smashing them down on my cutting board with this rocker - unlike the previous lever type crusher I had, where you would have to open, insert the clove, crush with the lever and repeat. The Joseph Joseph rocker allows you to smoosh to your hearts content. The only improvement I would make is maybe making the metal a bit thinner, as it is an extremely sturdy piece of equipment ( maybe the thickness is necessary so the rocker is sturdy enough) so that the garlic doesnt get stock in the holes so easily. However, a quick sharp tap on the cutting board usually disloges 99% percent of it, and even with the old lever type crushers, some garlic would get stuck in the holes with no easy way of tapping to remove it. So this one still wins, hands down. Plus it will last a lifetime! You would need to drive a car over this to bend it!So all round this is the best crusher I have used, and it makes a great gift too!If this review is helpful to you please click the helpful button. Unitasker but worth it
SO purchased this and I thought it was a waste but it’s actually quite useful. I usually grate garlic because I don’t want to use jarred but I also don’t want to mince by hand. Once you peel and cut the end from garlic with slight to mild pressure you can push on a clove and it perfectly minces it. Four instead of five stars because it really only does a clove at a time and you need to flush it right away or clean up will need scrubbing. Stainless is fairly easy to keep clean.

Less hassle to use than a garlic press
Love this kitchen tool! I find it much simpler to use than a garlic press — way less fussing around to efficiently crank out multiple cloves of minced garlic. You can just mash out clove after clove until the top fills with the minced garlic then neatly scoop it into your prep dish with a spoon. (I don't understand what another reviewer was talking about when he said it's not very good for large quantities — "... it gets pretty messy." Huh??? For me, this works better for large quantities of garlic than anything else I've used, including just a good ol' chef knife. I've had no problems with it "getting messy".)The working part of this tool is flatter and more accessible, so it's easier to clean than a typical garlic press. If it takes any more than just a forceful rinse to clean out all the holes, I keep a toothbrush near the kitchen sink to give it a quick scrub and that's usually all it takes. It also helps to rinse it out right after being used instead of letting it sit for a spell before cleaning. Garlic juice becomes sticky when it dries. However, note that this tool will produce more of a minced garlic, rather than crushed/mashed garlic. Usually, I prefer minced, but some of my recipes call for really well-mashed garlic, so I still keep a garlic press handy, but the vast majority of the time, I'll be using this little kitchen gem. I'll probably be ordering more to give as Christmas gifts.

Waaaay better than any hinged press
It cuts up the garlic into sorta big chunks, bigger than I’d prefer, but you can rock it over the results and get them smaller. And with that, honestly, it’s the best garlic press you can get. I do wish there was some kind of cleaning tool that came with it to get the stuck garlic out, but if you take it over the garbage disposal and blow (sounds dumb I know), it isn’t too bad.
