High quality tool kit for n00bs and pros
Having been through the tool kit mill, buying all manner of less expensive things from the likes of Draper, Rolson and, in the case of emergency repairs, the pound shop I decided to splash out on this kit from IFIXIT. Let’s start off by saying I am glad I did, you have all manner of normal and abnormal sized bits that grip securely in to the tool handle with a strong magnet with no worry about them falling out in to or on to the device you are repairing. I found no issues with opening and dismantling an iPhone 7 or an HTC android phone and removing the cooler from a GTX 1080Ti to replace the TIM. All the tools you could realistically need are there including pry tools, several spudgers, tweezers and a suction cup. You even get an antistatic wristband which is a welcome addition that is often left out of repair kits. Also worthy of mention is the way the tools are clearly laid out in a high-quality folding pouch that is securely fastened with a strong Velcro style strip. The screwdriver bit lid is held on with four strong magnets that negate the need for clips or hinges that will break because they always do, enabling the lid to double up as a screw sorter, that design is a genius idea. I can highly recommend this kit for all levels of repair from the home hobby to a repair shop. It isn't cheap, but you are paying for quality as well as intelligent design, in fact after I finish this review I am ordering a second kit to keep in my carry around tool kit. One final point I like about this tool system is the fact that, as and when you need parts because things will wear out or break, you can order top up parts and not have to buy the whole thing again. Good job IFIXIT, I will be looking in to buying more of your products for the workshop in the very near future.

Terrible quality and even worse customer service
I paid maybe 4 x more, thought ill buy a good quality kit rather than a cheap one as i use this on daily basis, and working on laptops and small electronics, if the screw is slightly damaged it becomes difficult to remove without causing damage to device.Have had issues with 2 flat head bits, slightly bent, no longer work when you need that "precision"Don't even get me started on the Torx bits, absolutely terrible had some stripped screws on iPhones and MacBooks however these screw do still tend to come out if they get stripped, so it is just a matter of putting a new one back, which is obviously an inconvenience and bringing an extra cost to me...However the T5 bit is just one of the worst, always a loose fit 90%+ screws get some sort of damage, and very common for one to be completely stripped.I work on Dell XPS machines which have a metal base and torx T5 screws, these just keep getting stripped no matter how careful i am. and then its not just a matter of replacing the screws, if it gets stripped i end up having to pull open the bottom cover. which breaks away from the palm rest, and some occasions damaging both bottom cover and palmrest and also motherboard. It could end up costing me hundreds of pounds due to these rubbish bits. And to top it all off, customer service is non-existent. message iFixit, replies in terrible english and i get told "speak to amazon send it back..." speak to amazon mostly get asked to speak to manufacturer or they can offer replacement if i send it back.Well i bought this to run a business i didn't buy it to spend hours trying to figuring out who is going to support the faulty item, even though it had a pic of ifixit support email address which they never reply on. and then if i send this back it will take a couple of working days, then a couple working days for them to check and another couple working days for them to send back?????Just shocked at the experience, i expected A LOT better product and service, considering what i have heard and lets not forget their sky high prices

Mostly excellent
Bought this at the same time as an Ezarc set costing a third of the price, intending to send one of them back, but ended up keeping both.I am a systems support technician, so use these every day, and have been through more precision screwdriver kits over the years than I care to remember.Pros:- Well made bits and easy bit selection- Nice weight and fine knurling on driver handle- Three flats on driver handle near the business end - fit fingers perfectly for holding pen-style when needed- The screwdriver kit box slides in and out of the fabric roll without needing to unfold the whole shebang every time- Good selection of pry tools (especially the jimmy)- Some nice well thought-out touches, e.g. the divisions in the parts trayCons:- Bit tray mostly made of foam? I hope it won't have perished in ten years' time but I'm not banking on it.Not sure why people are complaining about the plastic pry tools becoming worn. That's literally what they are designed to do. They're sacrificial so you don't damage your work piece, and will always need replaced fairly quickly, depending on the kind of use you put them to.In comparison to others this is the best quality I've seen short of investing in a Wera big kit (which has its own issues since Wera's bit selections have some glaring omissions - e.g. TXH5 is not in any of their kits).Whether the difference in quality is worth the difference in price over a cheap or midrange set I'm not totally sold on, but there's definitely nothing lacking. The driver and bits will last you a lifetime (although I'm not sold on the foam bit tray) and the rest is just very useful to have alongside the drivers.

You get what you pay for
I've bought a fair bunch of mini tool kits like this over the last ten years. Always cheap ones in the £10 range, usually with a huge amount of bits...after a few weeks, the ones you typically use often are completely knackered. Sad little toolkit ends up knocking around the house never used until you eventually lend it to someone else hoping to never see it again and then buy another cheap one. Decided to actually buy something professional grade (and priced!) this time, though.I don't regret it. Can tell the parts are high quality and properly machined, they'll probably last through the rest of the oddjobs I ever do in my lifetime. Lots of extra gadgets and knick knacks with it too, all neatly stored in a compact little case. Everything necessary is here, for the foreseeable future. I'm not disappointed. If you're looking for a toolkit to tinker with your electricals, you've found it.Thank you. Also would like to add I was recommended this product by Gamers Nexus (that's the name of their Youtube channel anyway - in particular the PlayStation Classic Tear-Down & Disassembly (PS1) video) so if that can help them gain any small amount of credit then, great.

I wouldn't buy it again
You are paying a premium so I expected high-quality items. These are the exact same quality as the other chinese made repair kits. There is an illusion that they are better because these are branded very nicely. But don't let that fool you. The suction cup is 100% useless, half of the plastic tools included have broken already, the tweezer is nowhere near precision and the points do not line up. I could go on but I have to be honest. This kit is NOT with it. Buy a cheaper one that does the exact same thing. I work on cellphones, laptops, tablets. Bad buy.
