I already have a few Victoinox paring and utility knives and was adding more for my convenience. They are very sharp, strong, and lightweight. Great for peeling, slicing, chopping. Do great in the dishwasher.

I purchased these on somewhat of a whim as my older paring knives were getting worn. They have quickly become the first knives I reach for. The varied selection fulfill most of my daily needs. They are sharp and lightweight which is especially handy for a woman. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and it didn't "break the bank". I think they will sharpen easily when needed and last for many, many years.10/09- I've used these knives now for over a year and they sharpen up quickly and easily with this handy little sharpener:  B0002JENO8  I am very happy with both of these purchases and recommend them.2/17- I have purchased another set of these to have on hand when the first set wears out, but they are still performing well! All my above statements are still valid and I absolutely love this little knife set for my everyday kitchen uses. They may not be perfect for everyone, but they sure are for me!9/15- I still have and use these knives daily. They hold their sharpness quite well for my needs, (though I am not a professional chef), and are very comfortable to use for me. I am an average sized, early 60's woman, and use these knives for a multitude of tasks. The 3 1/4" parer with a wavy edge is my most often used and I don't bother putting it in a drawer as I use it that many times a day! Love it!1-5-18- Happy New Year! I see these knives are still available and I hope that the quality is still as good as the original ones that I purchased ten years ago now. I have yet to pull out the back-up set that I purchased if they were discontinued, and use the original ones every day, usually at least a few times. I would give these ten stars if I could, one for each year that I've happily used them. Even my big, bullish husband hasn't broken them yet, and it's a good thing as I'd be pretty angry if he did. Perfect set. I love these knives and have been using them since i was young. Perfect mix of sharp, flexible, and thin. I've used paring knives by Cutco and find forged knives far to stiff for the work. Other knives are far too sharp to be using for paring and just plain dangerous.These are perfect for everyday use, preparing fruits and vegetables when you don't need to take a cutting board out.The length of the hooked knife is perfect for fine work. The other two are the standard length. The serrated blade is great for breads and tomatoes.By far this is most used set of knives I own.

Great set of paring knives for all your needs. Included is a small straight blade to use on tasks like cutting strawberries and working on delicate tasks like deveining shrimp, a birds beak knife to do precision work that more ergonomic like cutting out pineapple eyes and citrus segments, and serrated to cut tomatoes and other fruits with tough exteriors and delicate interiors. These knives come very sharp from Victorinox and are very durable. They are trusted in professional kitchens all over and are made to last.The only downside to these is the size, they are on the smaller side and with my hands (men’s medium/large) I tend to cramp up after using them for a few hours.

Despite a drawer full of kitchen knives, I always found myself reaching for the same favorite one, and got frustrated when it was dirty or in the dishwasher. And it's been retrieved from the trash on more than one occasion. Now with this knife set I always have a good sharp knife on hand, and have since purchased a couple of extra sets. I really like the serrated knife even though that was the one I thought I would get least use out of. They are super sharp. They aren't connoisseur's fancy knives - they are a basic kitchen staple for everyday tasks. The plastic handle holds up well to dishwashing and is tough although I agree with some other reviewers that the handle is on the thin side and personally I would prefer it to be chunkier. But these are incredibly good value.
