IMUSA USA GAU-18220T Teal 1.8L Electric Tea Kettle

I used this kettle multiple times a day for at least 7-8 months. It was great until it started not turning on; tried different outlets, tapping it on the counter, etc. but couldn’t revive it. I’m upgrading to a temp controlled gooseneck.

this worked fine for six months. then the heating element quit. I think I may have accidently flipped the switch to the ON position with only a little water in the pot. I caught it within a minute but the element must have burned out because the next time I tried to use it the water would not heat. So there is no sensor on the element to prevent burnout when there is only a little water in the pot. Poor product reliability.Worse, when I contacted the company and sent them my order info, they required lots of additional information--I had to take a video of the unit, provide a unique serial number, and write specific instructions about why and how it failed. In other words, they just try to raise more obstacles to honoring their warranty. This is my second IMUSA kettle only because I want a spare I like it so much. I have had several electric tea kettle but this one beats them all AND my old one is still going strong after years of daily use (unlike any of the glass ones or ever other regular kettles). I am a tea drinker and use it several times a day. It's totally a one hand operation, VERY ergonomic: easy lift and pour. I have never found it to become hot and I boil water at least once a day. What I LOVE about this one more than anything is that it stays in the ON position even when you lift it off the base because to make tea I hot rinse the tea pot before the water totally boils and I pour it over the tea in the pot; I love not having to reset it when I place it back on its base. It turns itself off when it has reached a full boil.UPDATE: After I wrote this I read other people's reviews where they talk about the handle getting hot. It's true that the very top of the handle where it curves to join the pot, gets warm, sometimes a bit hot. But the handle is so great, I never hold it there, I hold it in the middle where the balance is fantastic when the pot is full. So it has not been a problem for me at all. I had to go check after I read the reviews.

I bought this in April its now June 23 and it has stopped working. This is my second purchase of this kettle. Previous one lasted 4 years. Very unhappy with this purchase.

Been using this since I drink tea and instant coffee only and had to replace my coffee maker due to keeping it on for too long causing it to melt itself. This thing heats up fast so if you aren't careful, you will be sitting around waiting for the water to cool if you just want some quick warm DRINKABLE water, it's too hot to drink by the time it cuts off, but I find waiting about a minute to 1:30 it will make 16.9 oz of water nice and warm and DRINKABLE. I wish it had a temperature feature so next time I get a new one, I'll go for one that allows custom temperatures since the default boiling temp is too hot for my needs (I just want to make a quick cup of coffee or tea).It's cheap, fast and does what it says and it's easy to clean. I have had it for maybe 3-4 months.

Works as described! I really love this one I chose without temperature controls because I wanted for easy coffee/tea time water. It requires less that 16 seconds to fill up and sit and click the on switch conveniently located on the handle where you’re thumb would hold in case you are in a dim lit area in the morning you won’t have trouble using this product for quick simple water heating. Will not over boil or boil dry with safety shutoff and can reheat by clicking on switch again. No fuss design makes it more durable in my opt compared to shooing for other products. If you need to blend or match with kitchen decor then glass could e an option but may eventually break or chip while this stainless steel design is classic and will be more sterile or commercial looking. Fits in great if you have stainless and black kitchen design.
