Anchor knock off
This thread is NOT Anchor brand, it is a knock off. The white thread in the photos is authentic.

Pretty colors, but fuzzy and rough!
The thread colors are very pretty, and the cotton is double mercerized so it's shiny, but it's got a strange roughness to it, as compared to DMC thread which is equally shiny if not shinier and very smooth. When I really examined this Anchor thread, I noticed it's already sort of fuzzy from small fibers pulling up along the strands. So, if you care about that, and it will likely affect how it flows through your cloth, I would recommend against this one. After doing a little research, I noted these are Anchor brand from India made locally for their local market - not for export or to be compared with the German-produced thread. Buyer beware.

great value, stitches just fine
This is a great set of embroidery floss for the money, it cross stitches just the same as DMC. This set says on the labels its made in India, where when you go to the Anchor website it says Anchor floss is now is made in Hungary so I'm not really sure if its the "real" thing or not, but at this price it doesn't matter it works well and its a great assortment of colors for most any project!

I really enjoy using this floss
I really like this floss. I have been stitching for 50 years and have been a member of many stitching guilds, I also have taught many, many classes and have stitched items for leaflets. Throughout my stitching career, I have never been a fan of DMC. I have always preferred either silks or hand dyed straight unmercerised cotton. I bought these because I am doing some fractal schematics and need many different colours. I've not had one once of problem with this floss. I own a stitching retail website so I have access to many different kinds of floss. I like this floss as well as I like Presencia, Sullivan's, and some hand dyed floss. I use Thread Heaven when I stitch and it's as lovely as they come. I also like it for blending silks. When blending silks or using silk, the needle is threaded differently. When using silk, I attach the floss with a slipknot at the EYE of the needle and work over the end instead of looping it. The silks fray a lot less and th results are stunning. Anyone who has a question about this floss or any stitching question, please feel free to ask.
