Maranatha Organic Creamy Peanut Butter Salt ( 12x16 OZ)

I bought this product because it is organic and it is in GLASS. I wanted a product in glass because it is less environmentally problematic than plastic. It was offered for sale by Amazon/Whole Foods in 12-jar quantities. It actually came in 2, 6-jar boxes. The boxes where relatively thin for corrugated packaging. The bottom of the boxes were glued, not taped and the glue had come loose on one flap of one box. Sure enough, I didn't notice this and one jar fell out and broke on the concrete floor. Expensive loss. I suspect Maranatha puts several of these 6-count boxes into a bigger and heavier corrugated "shipper'. Amazon breaks them down to individual boxes and re-ships. It would be incumbent on somebody in this process to tape the bottom of each 6-count box.

I have been using this organic peanut butter for years. I have tried others but I like this the best. It has just the right touch of sea salt. I was very disappointed when one week during a remodeling at my favorite Whole Foods Store it was unavailable. I was so pleased to find it on Amazon at a great price that I will be purchasing it here from now on.

This is the best peanut butter on the market. So very very good. My young son eats it everyday and I have it quite often as well. Better than any other we have tasted, and organic which is important to us. Looks like the price went way up which is too bad but do know that this stuff is incredible. Good service from the company as well.

Ok, I don’t know what is going on at maranatha but they have been changing their products for the worse. They used to make such incredible peanut butter. Their no salt peanut butter was my favorite for years until it became difficult to find, and then the only one I could find had sugar in it; it was still good, but I eventually stopped buying it in favor of other nut butters because I didn’t want the added sugar. After not having eaten the maranatha PB in about 2 years, I recently picked this up at Whole Foods because it was the only organic PB not in plastic and they appeared to have removed the sugar, though I thought it was weird that the color of the PB was several shades lighter than it used to be (again, this is a product that I regularly used to buy and loved for a period of ~10 years).I’m not sure how they managed to make this so terrible. I mixed up the jar thoroughly with a knife before eating it. It tastes watered down at first and then progresses to this overwhelming, bitter taste of too much salt and burnt peanuts. The last time I tasted such bad peanut butter, it was salted dark roasted peanut butter from Costco (I think) at someone’s house. This is the second really bad maranatha product I’ve had this month, and I loved this brand and its (formerly) high-quality products for years. Really bummed, it seems like they are self-destructing and really badly managed now.

This peanut butter is far & away the best peanut butter I have ever tasted... which is saying alot because I eat peanut butter almost every day. I have tried many other brands of peanut butter, some more expensive, many that were less expensive, but Maranatha Organic Peanut Butter is my favorite by far. What separates this peanut butter from the rest of the pack is that it's creaminess & its incredible peanutty flavor- absolutely perfect! Peanut butter lovers, once you try this variety, you will stop eating anything else! Yum!Note: I am not a fan of Maranatha no-stir peanut butter, nor their other no-stir nut butters; the no-stir varieties taste incredibly strange & unnatural.
