I really want to get this, but there is an awful lot of people saying it arred broken

Mine came just fine. I love it.

Is this indoor outdoor use?

I have it on my desk but it seems sturdy enough to be outdoors. It is not plaster or wood, some kind of hard molded plastic I think. The paint may get weird outdoors but it seems quite durable.
