One of the best purchase I have ever made. Seriously. I have an iPhone 6-Plus, and using both magnets (included in the shipment) between the case & the phone, it attaches onto the mount very firmly. The mount also attaches firmly into my air vent (2006 Nissan Xterra). No jiggling or slipping. I can touch, swipe, etc on my phone screen without any risk of the phone falling or sliding. Great product!

I received this product at a discount in exchange for my personal and honest review of this product. When this came in the mail I didn't even realize what it was because I was expecting the box to look like it does in the picture and description of the product. The box and packaging does not look the same. The product inside is what I was expecting but the box was different. Also the vent holder has gold trim instead of the blue or red shown in the picture. That being said, this is the same product and works as it was described. I hooked it up to my vent. I attached the small circle to the back of my phone case and it magnets to the holder great. I have an iphone 6s, so it doesn't weigh much, so the little plate worked fine. I'm sure if I used the bigger one for a tablet it would hold good. Having my phone sitting right in front of me on my vent is very convenient. I'm making a road trip this week and I will use my phone as my GPS, so it will be perfect. I rated this 4 stars only because of the packing. I attached a picture of the product, the packaging and the plate attached to the back of my phone case.

This is the third air vent mount I have had (left one in rental car, and have one in each of our cars here), however this one is a little different than the other two, and I really like it...I actually prefer this design, and I will tell you why. Most of the air vent phone holders have a cross-slot in the back with a thick and a thin slit that you chose to use based on your vent design/dimensions. This one has a variable size alligator style clamp that can adapt to about any size vent. It holds better than the previously mentioned designs. Also, it sticks out a little more than the other designs, which is great to some models where the vents are recessed slightly, like our Traverse. Thus, this model gets the phone a little farther from the vents, and it adapts much better to a variety of vent sizes. I will be getting another one of these for my car, since I much prefer this design. Other good points include the ant-rattle rubber backing, and strong magnet. It comes with several shades and sizes of steel inserts as well. Very nicely put together, and I really recommend this model over the other style of air vent phone holders. I did receive this at a discount for this review, and I was fully expecting the other style vent holder...so when I received this, I was especially pleased and surprised at the thoughtful design features.

I have been through many of those vent clips that are spring adjustable and while the springs hold on great the claw that holds them to the vent always wears out and they start falling down while I'm going down the road. This phone holder is unique, not only for the magnetic hold but also the way it clips onto the vent... it's not going anywhere! I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it has a thinner case on it. I am able to use this phone holder with my phones case with no problems. I used the bigger plate and stuck it to the back of my phone's battery cover, I put the cover and case back on and it holds fine, it hasn't fallen off yet. It DOES hold better without the case on so a thicker case, like an Otter Box, would prevent this magnet for working I'm sure. But if you don't have tactical armour on your phone you should be fine. The holder comes with several different sizes of magnets to place on the back of your phone's battery cover. They all seem the same strength, they just offer more magnetic coverage so you can just slap your phone to the holder and be on your way.

I have recently purchased three different Magnetic car mounts to do a little comparison to see if there is any real difference... The major difference between this magnetic cell phone mount and the other two I purchased is the mechanical spring mechanism that it uses to hold on to your vent. The button opens up two little pincers that when you release it grabs onto the air vent. This particular device weights a little more then the others I have bought but part of that is due to its construction, it is a little more substantially built but I don't necessarily think that is a good thing because its extra weight can make the vent swing shut. To combat this I put it on the last bar on the vent so its proper up by the bottom of the vent. The magnet on this mount is equally as strong as the others I've compared it too. it also has the ability to rotate 360 degrees and is very easy pop on and off the car vent unlike the others. The metal plate with this mount is a bit shorter than the others which means less area to magnetize the phone too.
