This product is fun! The purple works well with my dark hair. So does the blue. The dye is not perfect, but with care, it isn't too messy. It does require a commitment to use quite a bit to get a strong color. I use half a jar. The color seems to show up especially well in the sun.When it dries in my hair it is quite crunchy and stiff (I do scrunch my hair upon application to get my curls to stay) but after a day or two it gets softer. The material does come off on clothes and surfaces like your neck and pillow (especially when wet), but it is not hard to remove and it doesn't come off very much. I sleep with a wrap around my hair.I usually only keep it in three days as it can get itchy on my scalp.I'm having fun with this!

Wouldn't buy again because it has a very strong shaving cream smell. I put a little in the front of my kid's hair & I could smell it a few feet away plus the smell doesn't wash off your hands. Would pay extra for an unscented option.It's like shaving cream is the base. Not just the smell but it leaves hair sticky and I could barely comb my kid's hair without him shrieking.Why did I give it 3 stars then? Well it is vibrant color. Especially after you comb it. My son has light brown hair. Does wash off hands easily, but leaves the smell.End result - my son immediately wanted to wash it out because of how it felt in his hair. He said he didn't like the sticky hair feeling. Others complained their hair felt heavy, I could definitely see that being the case.If you're nose blind and don't mind sticky hair, it does do what is advertised.

I really liked the color , vibrant purple, however it's too harsh for my hair, it dried my hair out & caused it to start breaking off. I had to give it away.

If you have dark hair you will need to use more but it will work. Very nice colors and can be used for full coverage or just a streak. Does not rub off and make a mess. My only complaint is that it dries crusty but I suppose all temporary hair coloring dries either crusty or chalky and it is not nearly as bad as anything else I have tried.
