Honestly, excellent. Much better than it has any right to be
This is a great book. I bought it because we are on an economy tip (new baby) and wanted stuff we could load up the freezer with at weekends and then quickly throw dinners together during the week. This is perfect. We’ve made about 5 of the different types of balls and they have all been great - super tasty and a doddle to make. The little explainer at the beginning on the art of balling is really helpful and pretty soon I’ll start making my own recipes as the basics are pretty clear after you’ve made a few. I have a good 50 or so cookbooks so no longer really buy ‘general’ cook books and this is just an excellent specialist book. The second half of the book is recipes that go with the balls and these are really solid too. The simple tomato sauce works really well - just throw some balls in and you’ve got yourself a fantastic pasta sauce. The Pho recipe is really simple and works a treat with some balls, noodles and some veg - tasty and healthy. I heartily reccomend this book, it is so much better than i was expecting. It also avoids some of the common pitfalls with restaurant cookbooks that are a bit fiddly, odd quantities or don’t quite turn out right. These recipes really work and give a lot of bang for your (time and money) buck

A cracking cookbook
This book is brilliant. It is a great guide for both blokes who perhaps don't cook that much but love a decent meatball and want to try out a few new variations; or for the more experienced cook, man or woman, who likes the idea of trying out the range of ways in which you can create some really impressive dishes in, errr, ball form. It's entertainingly written, got great photography, and all importantly, is dead easy to follow. There's loads of different recipes - pork, beef, lamb, hot, steamed, asian-style, Swedish, fish balls, veg balls... and also an extensive section on sauces, dips, salads and side dishes that go superbly alongside your balls. So it's got the lot.Buy it - for yourself, for family, for mates. It will go down a storm.

Bolus 007...
I never expected to find a cookbook which would also be such fun. I am an amateur cook so can be put off by daunting recipes but the bowler books approach to each recipe has made me more intrepid. I like too the nudges of encouragement to go off piste and add your own touches to the recipes. I can now pass off dishes as my own relatively guilt free. The Baa Baa balls were my first attempt and an instant triumph. I am now scoping the butchers for some more daring endeavours.A great book with great recipes and even better double entendres. The Bowler's Meatball Cookbook: Ballsy Food. Ballsy Flavours. Ballsy Recipes.

The Bowler's Meatball Cookbook - BRILLIANT!
I have just purchased a copy of this cookbook and felt compelled to write a review (first time i have done so for a cookbook!). It is excellent. The book is well laid out, recipes are clear and easy to follow and there are pictures for all the recipes so you always know what you are aiming for. Also the book has lots of "personality" which keeps it entertaining....but the chat is kept separate from the recipes which is always a winner (less confusing). The best bit of all - I have finally found a cookbook where I know I will use more than about 5 recipes. Highly recommended.

Nosh on their meaty orbs
Ok I'll admit that I've used The Bowler's food truck pretty much since they got started so this review was always going to be biased. The guys are great characters who love what they do and it clearly shows in this well-written book.I'd actually wondered how they'd manage to fill a book with meatball recipes but there's more than enough to try out here. Their spiced red onion and tomato sauce may contains about 25 ingredients but the book is worth buying for this recipe alone - it's staggeringly good.

Not Suitable for Kindle
I feel bad giving this only one star, the recipes look like they could be great the only problem is I can't see them. This kindle version is nothing like the other ones I have in my library it's basically a scan of the book making it very difficult to read.

Loving the balls!
Oh Mrs P loves a good couple of balls! This gem of a book has just arrived c/o Mr Amazon and I just love it! I can't wait to put my pinny on, roll up my sleeves and start squeezing those balls! The photography is beautiful and the recipes well laid out - I think I am going to start with the crab balls. Well done Mr Felwick ... who I used to knew in the good old days. But that is another story ....

Full of tasty recipes
We've tried four of the recipes so far...all excellent. Made a few of the sauces too...delicious.Units are in Metric, so you may want to get yourself a kitchen scale...or a conversion chart. Some of the ingredients may require googling :o)Easy to follow instructions.I understand the author has just opened a take-out/restaurant selling his meatballs in Covent Garden, London. I've got to go get some!

Dissappointed
In the Kindle version, the print is so small, I cannot read it or adjust. A pity as in the preview, the recipes looked so inviting.
