Knife King "SSG-1" Damascus Handmade Hunting/Bowie Knife. Comes with a Sheath.

Saw reviews for this seller that were not good for less expensive knives. Thought that this one being more expensive might be the exception. In addition, I could get in in a few days rather than 2 wks plus as other Damascus knives were. Gave it 3 stars because the pattern was distorted in an obvious place and it was rusty. I was willing to live with that and decided to just use it for yard work. Then I cut some 1/2 inches branches from over hanging limbs and a chip appeared in the blade. Now, it's really almost a $124 piece of junk.Don't get this one. The handle is beautiful, the blade can be made passable, but the quality of blade material won't cut it. I reduced the rating to 2 stars. I have 2 more Damascus blades from other sellers that are so beautiful that I don't want to use them and they have good quality blades as well. In terms of working knives though, I think Im through with Damascus. I was curious about it, but if there's work to be done, I'll stay close to Cold Steel or knives like that.I didn't contact the seller on this. Just making it "a lesson learned ".

Nice knife - well balanced, good sheath.Need to keep well oiled (using gun oil - any light lubricant should do), based on the 2 steels used (15N25 & 1075/1095), this would be prudent to follow through.No current cons (haven't tried out yet) - blade is sharp, no signs of wear or tear.

I am buying three knives for my groomsmen. I have ordered and received 2 of the 3. I did quite a bit of research into these knives before I made my purchases. The knives are amazing. The Damascus steel is beautiful and sharp. Each knife is balanced and handles well. The wood is finished beautifully. I could not be more happy. Thank you, Knife King.

I received this knife pretty quickly after I ordered and was instantly happy. It is a large knife with a thick blade and well made and fitted handle. The sheath that came with it also seems to be top quality.Personally I am very happy to have purchased this knife and will be buying more in the future.

I was looking for a large "Mountain Man" knife for a period event. This fills the bill. The damascus blade, and the size of this knife says survival,defense and a working tool, just what a man needed in 1840!

A strong, real knife, no frills (except the metal of course), but there's something about it that says this is not a mass-produced piece of junk people are conditioned to think is good. Understand?
