Little Dutch MaidAlmond Windmill Cookie, 10-Ounce (Pack of 12)

Sentimental favorite
My husband loves to have these cookies with coffee or milk. He tells me that his grandmother used to give him these cookies with milk after school. Now we are carrying on that tradition with the grandkids. The lightly spiced flavor of these cookies makes them a comforting snack.

Delicious cookie
I’ll admit it, I’m a chocoholic and rarely see the point in a snack or dessert missing that key ingredient. These cookies are my one big exception. Maybe it’s the nostalgic experience of nibbling at the windmill, or maybe it’s the slightly spicy crunch, but I do love these cookies. I also thrill to the challenge of dipping the edge in hot tea just long enough to soften the cookie but not so long as to leave a soggy mess at the bottom of the cup. With all the recent supply chain disruptions, our local shops have been out of these cookies for months. I was thrilled to find them on Amazon and in a quantity that should hold us until the world sorts out it’s issues.

Not as advertised!
The packaging says Almond Windmill cookies. The cookies I have bought in the past has small slivers of almond in them. These had no almonds at all. I was very disappointed.

Good
Out of all the package of cookies at least four to five of them were broken so other than that tastes good

I knew the cookies and enjoyed them very much
Well, I knew the cookies and enjoyed them very much. I had to purchase them on-line because the local store stopped carrying them. Their lose.

Five Stars
Couldn't find these cookies anywhere (except Chicago) since moving from Chicago. They arrived with little damage to the cookies.

Paid too much
I thought these cookie would have almond bits in them. Paid too much. I could have gotten a pack at the dollar tree. Same brand for $1.25 per pack instead of 12 packs for $33.

Good, but not the real thing
I liked these cookies well enough, and they are sort of crudely windmill shaped. But... they are crumbly like your average Danish Butter Cookie and have almost no flavor of nutmeg and no almond slivers in them at all. Sort of a knockoff, like when they took Vernors national and watered down the formula for other regions. These probably aren't the Windmill Cookies you remember (or were looking for). Dunk them and they'll probably just dissolve into crud at the bottom of the cup.
