Jodhaa Akbar Bollywood

I bought this DVD with a little trepidation, not sure what to expect as I've never seen Hithrik Roshan playing roles in period/historical settings. But, as usual theversatile Hithrik delivers with his fine performance of Akbar,looking every bit as regal and with great presence as you would imagine Akbar would be. Aishwarya complements him well,better than with any other actors which I've seen in her other movies. No Hindi films will do without the song and dance routine and Jodha Akbar is no different. But I've gotta say A.R.Rahman deserves the accolades of a Oscar winner in music score as all the soundtracks in this movie are simply awesome! I found myself humming to the music long after watching the movie, which was again and again,and even going as far as to purchase the CD for the soundtracks! Jodha Akbar is certainly a keeper in my collection.

This story is a delightful romance between an Emperor, and his Empress, the realms Kings, greed, deceit, love, sacrifice, and honor. Beautifully filmed on location, amazing costumes, set, lovely music, and a romance that shows the fire, determination, kindness, and beauty of true love won in the hearts of a man of righteous power, and a woman who is determined to be understood - not just for her self, but for the love of her people and their future. We will be watching this many times in the future. A Class 1 movie that makes you feel happy and lifted. A definite film to see and own!

I got this film on Netflix several years ago. I had been wanting to see the film sense 2007. I think the message in the film is very important and the music is superb. I left a comment that was wrong and I am sorry. The song where Jodhaa sings to Krishna is on the soundtrack. I can't wait for the cd to arrive in the mail. I have been wanting to buy the soundtrack for some time now. I think everyone who is a Bollywood music and film fan should see the film and hear the music. The costumes are amazing and so are the locations. If you like this film and soundtrack, you must see Guzaarish. The message in the film is also very important and the songs are so powerful. Some of the film is in English and part of the song "Sau Gram Zindagi" is in English. I saw it in the theater in Punjab, India and I own the soundtrack. Also, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan star in this film. It is filmed in Goa,India. WaheGuru, Ashleigh

I love the movie, and musical score. The DVD set we bought has two DVDs, one is a Speical Features which includes the movies songs and lyrics, and translations. I love this musical score so much I had to purchase the CD. So, the one complaint is that the CD only has seven songs--it is not the complete movie score. Other than that it is

I got this movie on Netflix, I think by accident. It was kind of corny Bollywood at first, but there was something about it. Then there was a scene with whirling dervish and the music was mesmerizing. I knew I had to get the soundtrack. It turned out it was the same composer who did "Slumdog Millionaire." I played this cd to death and turned so many people on to it. It is just beautiful. For me, it's a classic I can play forever.

This has great performances and chemistry between Hrithik and Aishwarya (as usual for them!) Beautiful, beautiful costumes, scenery, romance and emotionally intense. Love that it is taken from an historical event and they delve into the sub-story between the prince and princess. A classic and highly recommended to watch and to purchase.

Beautiful music from a bold, beautiful movie. This is one of my favorite Bollywood movies. Thanks to English subtitles you do not have to know the language to enjoy this beautiful story. I do not understand the words of the songs but they are not needed to appreciate the beauty of the feelings and emotions of the music. I highly recommend both the CD and the movie.

I enjoy well crafted and emotionally uplifting music no matter the language. The first song is the best and most moving off all the songs. My CD actually came with 2 CD's, the second had some extra features like the official trailer and cast information from the movie Jodhaa Akbar.I feel I got my money's worth and would recommend it.

I loved the movie and i loved the soundtrack. It's ethereal and you are transported to India every time you listen to it.
