Heads

I know that a common mistake made when drawing heads is making the top of the head too small. Hard to make that mistake when looking at all the "dome" up above the eyes over and over again! :)

I LOVE this book! It's an excellent reference for artists! I kind of thought the "facial hair" section was a bit weird, since most of the photos are of completely hairless heads/faces, but I got used to it. I do wish there were some ethnic groups represented other than Black and Caucasian, but maybe they could be included in a future book.

As a budding artist, Kayser's book "Heads" is the perfect resource for me for learning how to draw faces. Each face, while different, is posed and lighted in the same way, so all I have to worry about is capturing the unique facial features of each model. That makes comparison between my finished results easy.

Great photographer, had the opportunity to work with him in the 90ties... Beautiful book.

I really didn't need this book, I just wanted it for nostalgia. I took a drawing course to be a Police Sketch artist and the instructor used this as a reference. It's an interesting book for the slick top look.

Incredible book. Perfect for drawings heads and learning skull structure. All different shapes and sizes and both sexes and all bald.

I love this book, as a student of the student physog, it is fascinating...I just wish the profiles had been included!

This is a beautiful book. The layout is simple yet the images are so striking and intriguing. The juxtaposition of heads with each other create a visual rhythm that is eyecandy. I can look at these photos for hours. Beautifully executed.

英語の前書きや途中の文章などはまだ全然読んでいません。けれど写真だけ見ていても良い資料として活用できそうです。ペーパーバックですが、表紙・裏表紙は光沢紙、中は半光沢の厚手の紙で安っぽくはありません。全編スキンヘッド、首から上のモノクロ写真集です。男性も女性もスキンヘッドで184人分。一名分がページ半分で見開き4枚構成です。写真1枚は13cm×11cm強の大きさです。日本人も入っていますがほんの数名のようです。他は白人系と黒人系が多いですね。ユダヤ人?系も少し入っているようです。子供は黒人系の一人だけで、他は20代〜60台くらいの成人ですね。日本人の顔なら周りにいくらでもあるわけですから、資料としては良いと思います。ただ、写真が正面しかなく、サイドや頭部上方からの撮影はまったくありません。この点と子供の写真が一点しかなかったことで星4つとさせていただきました。
